Quotes from around the league on Grayson Allen

Burks looks ready to play. Could have a nice bench role with us, or more likely have decent trade value.

The question is what do we want for him? We dont really need anything he could bring back.

An upgrade over Neto or an upgrade over Udoh could be worth it.

Burks IS a Neto upgrade, considering the bevy of combo guards this team has.

For that matter, I like Burks quite a lot (if he’s not being relied upon too much). There’s really no reason to “upgrade” anywhere considering any role player would be a lateral move at best in most circumstances, and the Jazz don’t really have assets to go after some nameless star.

Unless some unforeseen overpay of a deal came through I’d keep him until around the trade deadline... if he wanted a change to get more PT and we got a similar expiring plus a second rounder I’d move him to do him a solid.

He’s a great luxury to have and he seems like he still has a great attitude. I don’t mind him playing over Grayson... Cobra Kai needs to step up his defense if he wants minutes... last game he got smoked by frickin sauce Castillo for a dunk.

Speaking of guard defense, what's with Rubio getting caught ball watching this year? I doubt Quin puts up with that for long.

He wasn't great to start the year last year... I chalk a lot of it up to preseason. Playing defense is hard... mentally and physically. I think we will flip a switch on that end when real games start.

How much more are you asking from a backup center playing 12 minutes? The guy puts in solid advanced stats for his role. I dont think they can replace him, especially for the $. Nor will they find a low minute guy who keeps himself ready like Udoh does.

Someone asked. I answered. We’re not upgrading at any starting spot by trading Burks. We likely wouldn’t be able to upgrade over Crowder, Exum, or Allen in trading him. So in looking at the rest of the bench and what’s important come playoffs and in trying to make a deep run, Neto and Udoh are two players who leave a lot to be desired and whom we could definitely look to upgrade over.

Backup pg and backup c are two positions that oftentimes become crucial in the playoffs. If we could upgrade one of them by trading Burks, we may want to do it. That said, I still think we’ll have too many games where we struggle to score so I’m not sure trading him is prudent overall.

Don't disrespect Udoh like that. The man would be DPOY candidate if he was starting for a team. I take great pleasure when guards see him and think they can take him off the dribble. He is already better than most back-up centers and he is our third center. I don't how you can upgrade him, I mean he is miles better than Withey and Pleiss and he is earning minimum. He seems to have improved his hands too.

Dude he's a great back up but he doesn't start 82 games for a playoff team. He's a destitute mans Olden Polynice at best.

I mean there is an "if" there. Of course he doesn't start for any team with his current offense but my point was that he was a great back-up so we agree anyways.

Did you ever watch Polynice? I have fond memories of Polynice, not because I appreciated him when he was here, but because he was replaced by John Amaechi.

In any case, Udoh is a middle-class man's Dikembe Mutombo.
