Pre Game

This can be the Blazers' championship game. Shock the world and win it!

This game isn't likely a win for us. It would be shocking if we did win it but crazier things have happened. If things go the way they should the tank crown will have something to cheer about.

Chris Craig, the king of team spirit polls! So we are going with Larry Nance and Greg Brown against Hassan Whitesidee and Rudy Gobert.....where's your confidence man!!!!!!!!!!!!11

How long do you think we will be in the gym before the Jazz completely run us out of it? I'm gonna go with 1 quarter.

With 9 players out we should use the same bail out card like the Nets used on us.

The writing been on the wall for a couple of years about this team it's just come to realize this year it's becoming reality that we just not that good the way this was constructed by Olshey.

Blazers play best when they’re expected to lose. Subverting expectations FTW.

The Jazz are by far the best offensive team in the league so far this season and they seem like fast starters (from the game I've looked in on, I haven't actually checked whether they are for the season) so I think by the end of the first quarter, it'll be something 37-22.

Groan, another game I'll have to record because I'm going to have to fast forward past the bad parts which will be most of the game.

My confidence is in the toilet.

Had decided not to waste my time by going tonight, then see Mitchell is out and think, hey, maybe there's a chance. Then remember what Dallas just blew us out with and ugh.

Quick said that everything should be on the table for deals, including Lillard. There's absolutely nothing wrong with saying that. The Blazers should be considering trading Lillard at this point. The team is a ****ing mess and completely unwatchable, and if they decide to blow it up/tank like so many fans are begging for, there is zero reason to keep $50 mil per year, 31 year old Damian Lillard in Portland. And that's assuming he would even want to be here under those circumstances. If the team is hitting the reboot button, being loyal to Dame may actually mean trading Dame. And i get why Dame is offended by that, he gave everything for the Franchise, but he also has to face reality.

It is hard to identify an all-NBA talent. It's incredibly hard to be in a position to obtain an all-NBA talent (in Portland). It's near impossible to get an all-NBA talent to stay in Portland into his prime. What trade for Dame (that is realistic) could we get that puts us in a better position? Quick knows that answer: There is none.

Thank God the Jazz don't have any good big men. OOPS!

Everyone want fair value if we dealt Dame but hate tell you hardly ever get true value trading a star player so what need is quality value for your star player. But I don't think Dame is on any trading block though.

Here’s some advice. Sit Dame down for the season, sit CJ, T-A-N-K TANK!

Trust me. It’ll be the best thing that can happen out of this season.

Can we forfeit?

Prepare asses for kicking.

ESPN gamecast has the Blazers with a 25.2% probability. So they're saying there's a chance!

This game could be all but over within minutes, or maybe not. One or the other.

Well, at least we had a trumpet player do the anthem night, so we can call him back out after the game for a rendition of Taps.

1st Half

I can't watch this. Already so bad. Just completely out-sized. Why Neil thought two slow lumbering guys over 6'10 would be enough size to compete is beyond me.

Four straight paint touches with little resistance

Hurd saying “nice job!” when they miss a shot. We did absolutely nothing good, they just missed a wide open 3.

The bar is as low as it can get.

Not sure I can watch another thrashing. Let’s hope for a miracle…

if gobert doesnt get the first 10 touches synder should be investigated for point shaving

My god watching Gobert get to play against a team with nothing but 6'8 dudes is so boring.

What's the record for points in the paint?

Gobert is like playing with high schoolers hahaha

Sheesh 20-2 points in paint discrepancy…

Gobert has 6" and 30 lbs on even our biggest players. It's gonna be a long night no matter what

You know you are screwed when Jordan Clarkson is posting you up

Seriously just give them the game hahahaha..

We need to be booing more

Look at Utah attack our weak spots right from the start. Stotts and now Billups never do that.

It's a free two points for them whenever they want. Send it from three i guess.

Never had i watched a blazer game which I think is over after the first 2 minutes

This is gonna be an ugly game with this size disadvantage

Omg that closeout by Snell is legit the worse closeout I have ever seen in my life

already bored of watching rudy just do whatever he wants

There can’t be a team that gives teams so many open looks in the NBA

we only one timeout into the game and i already lost hope

The only shot we have at winning this is if Gobert gets in foul trouble. The Jazz are way too disciplined as a team to not take advantage of the size disparity

his is brutal.

hassan is a ****ing behemoth compared to the shrimp blazers

About to use all our timeouts in the first half.

lol they're just not gonna miss tonight.

Look at it this way: we're cornering the market on undersized guards. Any team that wants a small guard, they GOT to go through us

Is dame time just when he gets the ball slapped out of his hands now?

Yea it’s over with their size and we’re switching everything on top of that

Imagine running a NBA roster and thinking you don't need any big men LOL

How do you expect to go small ball against good centers like Gobert and Whiteside? It makes no sense

I get that they lose a ton of money when games get cancelled but making us play a game against a fully healthy Utah without most of our team is just messed up. Gobert, one of the most dominant players in the paint, is literally matched up with nobody over 6’8

whiteside will have his double double in under 10 minutes tonight

All these 10 day contracts and not 1 7 footer signed. SMH.

It's the same play every time. They drive and dump to Gobert or Whiteside and we still can't stop it

Can’t shoot and can’t defend. What a combo.

Need 3 people on gobert

Let’s help the team that is healthy and top 3 in the west, not the home team just trying to hang without 8 players… such horrible calls

when i tell u these refs are horrible i mean there horrendous.

Wow. Anfernee is back to being the worst defensive player in the league.

The matchups tonight are rough but I expect guys to show some pride. This is hurting my soul.

6'2

6'4

6'3

6'6

6'8

last 4 possessions have all targeted him.

I don’t understand why we are switching pick and rolls instead of going to drop coverage. Makes no ****ing sense to me. Ant and Dame guarding centers…

Defensely terrible but we are shooting 62 percent from the 3 that keeping us in the game.

The 10 day guys play better defense than the regular roster guys…

Is holding them under 40 in the first a moral victory?

This is some ******** officiating. Utah keeps grabbing their faces and these refs keep falling for it.

if you blow on goberts ear it’s a foul

Utah got in the bonus at the 10:13 mark in this quarter.

We kept them under 70! There's a chance!

Blazer Reddit — FULL of “free tickets” threads.

Can anyone tell me why sometimes the Blazers start out going left to right, and but sometimes right to left?

Oh I found the answer on reddit. The away team chooses and they always choose to have their offense in front of their bench in the first half. But the Jazz do it opposite because John Stockton wanted Sloan to call the plays in the second half. They kept it that way because if traditi

Blow up the team

We have yet to unleash our 5 guard death lineup

For a team so bad being down 10 is like being down 2

2nd Half

This pogo stick halftime show is low-key kinda sick.

Jazz have 70 pts in the paint

Dame is playing for stats. Dude wants to make the all star game and I can’t blame him.

2nd team in a row to be up 20 on us in the 4th and challenge a call....that's pretty tacky if you ask me...Kidd did it too

radio guys trying to generate some excitement by saying...and now we're back within' 20!

I’m legally obligated to say that the jazz head coach looks like a Bond villain whenever I see him on the scree

Imagine if we had taken Gobert instead of CJ.

Oh my god this is demoralizing

Sports gods showing giant middle finger to State of Oregon.

This really the only game where I can’t even criticize chucking threes. Cuz it’s literally our only way back in since we can’t stop them down low without fouling.

Gobert thinks he's sick getting boards over 6 foot 3 dudes

Any time we get under 10 they just spam lobs. This **** is boring. lol

It’s actually like shooting practice pre game for these guys that play us. There is NO attempt to defend and hustle

Snyder Is a good coach

I'm not sure that Dame is gonna have much luck trying to do those moves against Gobert.

Another beatdown, huh...

I should of bet the farm on the Jazz winning tonight. Blazers might as well pack it in. Dame get surgery. Get a lottery pick hopefully luck and be number 1. Take Chet or dude from Duke. Trade CJ for a tall wing or 4 or piece to solidify the bench. Find a big. Resign Ant. Find a big. Sign a new coach. Start over next year. They need a miracle this year

On another note - anyone notice that Coach Quinn took a timeout for the Jazz IMMEDIATELY after that momentum play. Now that’s smart coaching.

we just wait to get destroyed then.. no offensive rebounding and no way to penetrate

Oh man, I forgot they have Gay as well

Why is lillard going to play 40min in a 20pt blowout? Lol

Hassan giving up a dunk for old times sake was respectful

he team is playing switch everything because guards don’t want to fight through screens.

I'm so done watching this team spend 44 minutes fighting back from a 16+ deficit every ****in game.

oh my god clarkson is just jacking **** up at the rim and it's going in

Powell really dribbled around the court for like 20 seconds without passing, wtf are we doing on offence?

Lillard looks shattered....

Absolutely disgusting that Clarkson got left THAT wide open because neither of the defenders communicated the switch.

rudy gay cant miss

I hate how sad Dame is nowadays.

Every time we make a three they're gonna answer it cause we're playing this ****in zone.

Those rimouts are killing us. Clarkson is just tossing the ball at the hoop and it goes it, and we have half our misses rimming out of the hoop

Well. Goodnight folks, that was another bummer of an evening

Jazz commentator talking about dame were right and it pisses me off

Clarkson has a punchable face 100% of the time

Imagine keeping blevins and signing zeller on your roster over whiteside

Scott brooks standing hands in pockets on the sideline, kinda sums up the season.

cmon snyder put in hassan with gobert

5 points total for our 2 starting forwards.....????Little is terrible...

I can't even be mad anymore... All I can do is laugh... Does anyone seriously think Dame is going to stick around?

Blazers need to realize they going no where with Lillard. A highly overrated player due to his scoring. He scores but does little on defense & that’s why they going no where. Tonight he was a team worst, -22. There’s a saying, defense wins championship.

Lillard was a team worst -22 tonight. Scoring is not everything. It’s how efficient you are, playing defense, helping teammates getting easier shots, etc

Post Game

this season has been a burning barrel of whale blubber

At least the whale blubber would keep me warm at night

We went into the season with two dudes above 6’8. This isn’t hindsight, people were saying we were too small. One reason why I wanted to keep Chriss, but that’s a secondary issue. We’re not only small, but we’re small WITH ****** defenders. **** off, trade Powell and CJ for size ASAP.

Not a terrible effort, just outmanned.... althoug for the 2nd game in a row, the other team didn't have their best player.

The Blazers get dominated at home for the 2nd straight game and fall to 13-21 on the season. The Jazz picked apart their defense with ease all night long.

Anyone else notice the complete shift in ball movement, effort and engagement as soon as Dame checked out in the 4th?

It’s official. With Sac’s buzzer beater tonight against the Mavs, our beloved Blazers are 1 game back from OKC and the 14th spot in the WC. Truly, we are now competing with Houston for the 15th spot and last place. And to think we are not even trying to tank. Norm played 43 minutes; Dame played 37.

Well this game wasn't much a surprise, feels like the Blazers are having trouble beating anyone, Blazers are now losers in 13 of their last 16 games.

If they keep up losing 13 out of 16 for an entire season it would have given them the worst record in the NBA last year.

Please rebuild or trade for Simmons

jesus make it end.

These truly are trying times

Dame looks so despondent whenever they show him on the bench nowadays. It's genuinely pretty heartbreaking to see. I can't even imagine how taxing this season has been for him both mentally and physically.

This game means nothing. They have 2 bigs who are elite at being tall, and we have no one over 6’8. Only one way it could have went. Sucks, but it’s as scheduled as a loss can be.

I'm shocked that we lost to the Jazz while missing three of our starters, our only 7 footers, and having to play G-leaguers heavy minutes.

There are things to dislike about this team right now, but losing this game is not one of them.

Hopefully after All stars, Dame will be more willing to sit the season out. Let's tank and get a good pick instead.

We had zero chance in this game and the Jazz could have made it more of a blow out then it was. Gobert could have had 25/25 since he was a foot taller than anyone else on our team minus Larry. I think Quinn held them back from true exploitation.

“Chris Craig, the king of team spirit polls! So we are going with Larry Nance and Greg Brown against Hassan Whiteside and Rudy Gobert.....where's your confidence man!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“Hassan giving up a dunk for old times sake was respectful”

Good to see that they still have a sense of humor in Portlandia!
