Lakers-He makes Utah a lot better if he stays healthy. I expect them to be top 3 in defense and hopefully in the top 10 offensively if Mitchell also takes a step up.

Warriors-I'm expecting an efficiency increase from Mitchell, he's going to have someone to take pressure off.

Toronto-I agree, but the additional spacing that Conley (an excellent 3 point shooter) provides over Rubio (a quasi non-shooter) might even be more important for Mitchell.

Unk-I’m loving Utah building their roster like this. The West is shaping up to be a great 10-team race to the finish, I know injuries happen but hopefully the NBA gods turn the injuries setting off next year. An 82-game slugfest in the West.

Suns-Mitchell 100% needs to have a sizable increase in efficiency, if he doesn’t make that jump after getting a great PG next to him will be a massive disappointment. Everybody has said Mitchell’s efficiency is bad because they had no other options around him so he absolutely needs to improve now that he is not even the best offensive player on the team

Grizzlies-It ain't though. If anything, his body is fresher for having sat so many games with temp injuries that all healed 100%. I don't blame you for thinking otherwise because it's been a major narrative on this sub, but it's time that got reversed.

His eye injury is 100% healed. His "Achilles" injury was really just a bone spur they removed. He's totally fine.

Warriors-Look out jazz next year.

Lakers-**** Conley on Utah should make everyone in the West scared. Utah is a big boy again.

Raptors-Does this make Utah a contender?

Bulls-Definitely

Hawks-Jazz trying to contend while Mitchell is on his rookie contract, it's a good move.

Raptors-That was a true power move from Utah front office, they knew what they wanted, said bye to Rubio and moved as soon as possible.

Mavericks-Conley is one of the more underrated players in the league, though he was slightly overpaid.

Celtics-This just in: mike conley similar in age to bunch of guys he played at same time as in college

Buucks-OH **** GOOD ****ING MOVE

Edit: Perfect move for Utah as they finally get a true #2 option for Donovan. I’d suggest adding a stretch 4 and moving Favors to add more spacing for the backcourt.

Thunder-What do the grizz get?

Grizzlies-A bad package

Magic-Decent enough given that the Jazz have to accept that monster contact

Blazers-Might be unpopular opinion but I think Conley is still better than Mitchell at the moment.

Unk-Mitchell is overrated. Conley is underrated.

Unk-So in aggregate, Utah's backcourt is now properly rated!

Unk-Perfectly balanced as all things should be

Bucks-Donovan obviously has the keys to Utah as the #1 scoring option. I don’t see Conley coming in and taking that away from him.

Bucks-Mirotic would be the best-case scenario for you guys. Personally, I’d suggest to not pick up Favors’s option, sign Mirotic, and look for a cheap backup 5 that can effectively switch (and maybe even shoot the 3). Gobert has shown to be an issue for you guys in the playoffs, so Utah would need to have someone that can switch when he gets played off the floor.

76ers-Grizzlies got fleeced in my humble nephew opinion

Nets-Sign a stretch 4, keep Favors and run a three man big rotation. Favors can play backup 4 and 5 and give you points in the post

Raptors-Gobert and Conley f**************k, thats gonna be nice to watch

Nuggets-We gave you Donovan and Rudy. Literally GAVE. Rudy for someone out of the league, Trey Lyles and Tyler Lydon are trash.

Raptors-Honestly so stupid, how can a person that won DPOY and mulitple defenses not get an allstar yet. I hope in the future people start to give more attention to defense.

Warriors-Biggest snuff ever. Gobert deserved it, we all know it.

Nuggets-Conley's better at cutting off passing lanes and playing help defense (to me), but Rubio's bigger, longer, and more of a pest to his individual matchup

Raptors-Interested to see how they do next year. Raptors shown this year that defense can still can you by in this offensive age when you're teams isnt hitting shots.

Wizards-A Toronto-Utah NBA Finals? Tell me that isn't the NBA's worst nightmare. David Stern isn't even commish anymore, and he'd STILL do what he could to ensure it didn't happen. Just on principle

Blazers-Don, Conley and Gobert with Snyder system. I would bet the over on Utah. Great regular season team too

Blazers-He’s for sure a big upgrade really happy for yall

Knicks-I wouldn’t be shocked if they won the title next year. A team with two great guards, maybe the best defender in the league, and really good role players can compete.

Mavericks-I mean if Donovon takes another leap to superstar status which isn't out of the question, then you have a great number 2 option in Conley with a superstar and a DPOY center, with strong wing play. Worse teams have won the title.

Grizzlies-Mitchell has to take a step forward in terms of efficiency and Conley has to maintain the level of play he showed post ASB last season after Gasol was traded. He did something like 27/7 on 48/40/84 and 62% TS. If that's the "real" Mike Conley (and I think it is, GnG held him back IMO) then Utah is a darkhorse contender for sure.

Knicks-Jazz gonna need at least one more shooter tho on the wing to take a deep run in the west

Spurs-Finally someone else to take shots other than Donovan Mitchell

Timberwolves-In his limited time Allen didn’t look like anything special. Korver is really old. Crowder is an okay role player at best. The pick is a late first round pick.

All of this for a great PG. for an Organization that is trying to win in an absurd West, this is a perfect trade to make them a legit contender.

The future pick is the only thing that hurts. But who knows it could be another late first round pick.

Thunder-OKC isn't even in the NW geographically, can we request a transfer?

Warriors-I'm glad that we're probably not gonna contend next season cuz this **** scary lol

Blazers-The Northwest division is going to be a bloodbath, maybe even more than it usually is.

Blazers-There's a weird world where the top 4 seeds in the west are from the Northwest. Most likely Houston, the Lakers or Warriors make that impossible. But it would be fun

Lakers-Nice for Utah

Magic-Memphis needs a rebuild. Utah needs another star.

Celtics-#23 and a highly speculative first is not a great haul. Conley's contract is much less bad than everyone seems to think.

Cavs-You lost an all-star PG and were saddled with an aging Korver, Jae Crowder, and a 6/1/1 player. Is the 1st even protected?

What are you going to do with Utah's afterthoughts? You're stuck in purgatory for years to come.

Unk-Don't understand this trade for Memphis, they got jack and **** and Ted Cruz back.

Heat-Conley / Mitchell / Gobert is a good nucleus.

Hope it works out for y'all.

Nets-UTAH SCARY. West is going to be brutal

Nets-teams get better and the warriors are worse. it’s clearly different this year

Wolves-Mitchell is gonna take a turn for the worse just like Wiggins. Rubio props those guys up whether people want to believe it or not.

(Still a good move for the team, though)

Lakers-Spida jumping up and down in joy now

Blazers-DAMN, I LOVE THIS FOR UTAH

Blazers-Can the rest of the division just take a break? God dammit.

Wizards-Teams in the West aren’t allowed to get worse

Kings-Great move. Adds another scoring threat and a potential good defender in Quinn Snyder’s system

Thunder-Big move for the Jazz. Well done.

Warriors-Amazing fit for Utah

Spurs-Conley/Mitchell/Jingles/Gobert core. Good job Utah.

Wolves-Love this for the Jazz!

Suns-****.. It's a good move. It's a good move

Celtics-Sweet for Utah

Kings-Happy for Conley. He'll do great for Utah and takes pressure off Mitchell to run the offense. Unfortunately, the West gets even stronger...

Spurs-Finally we get to see him in a place that wants to win. Was worried he would rot in Memphis

76ers-Dope trade. Hope Memphis trades my boy Kyle Korver he deserves to play for a contender

Blazers-Jazz in seven baby

Grizzlies-I’m pretty sure most grizz fans are happy right now because Conley gets to contend and we get draft picks

Thunder-Nice Conley is gonna look good with Mitchell

Mavericks-Man imagine if Utah made the finals

Celtics-A Jazz/Raptors finals would make ESPN execs cry tears of blood.

Rockets-Memphis got fleeced

Celtics-Kyle Korver said minorities deserve to be treated fairly and Utah shipped him right out the door

Raptors-Conley, Mitchell, ingles, gobert, and a stretch 4 would be diiiiiiirty. Utah is legit now

Lakers-2020 NBA Finals, Game 7: UTA wins over TOR 18-17 after a heart wrenching defensive game. all 18-17 points scored via goaltend

Heat-This is such a good move for Utah. Get the perfect point guard for them and not giving up anything major. The picks aren’t anything crazy either.

Mitchell, Conley and Gobert is an EXCELLENT trio. Great defence especially. They have Ingles at SF obviously, but it seems like they really need a decent stretch four to balance out Gobert, right?

And do either Rubio or Exum go now?

Lakers-Donovan is gonna light it up! Finally had a legit 2nd option on the team.

Mavericks-Wow. Conley-Mitchell backcourt sounds so nice to watch.

Warriors-They're going all in for this year. Wouldn't be surprised if they made a few "playoff" moves too. Some quality depth signings etc.

Thunder-Honestly, wouldn't be surprised if they're the 1 seed.

Lakers-Finally this will allow Spida to play his true position

Raptors-Utah’s gonna make some noise this year, a West finals appearance would not shock me with the team they have now.

Grizzlies-Everyone is saying the Jazz bent us over, but I kind of like this for Memphis. What else were we going to do? Keep Conley and win 35 games next year? We got out of that contract and got two first round picks and a young asset in Allen.

Celtics-Utah is officially my 2nd team. I love what they have. Hard nosed, professional players up and down the roster. Conley, Mitchell, Gobert, Favors, Engles, O'Neale. Conley is going to be so important for Mitchell's development. Gives me something to root for as the Celtics disintegrate, bit by bit...

Unk-Any time you can trade the face of your franchise the past decade for Grayson Allen, you do it.

Cavaliers-Oh ****. I see you Utah

Suns-Really like the fit. Gives Utah another reliable option on offense besides Mitchell. Makes them a pretty formidable team in a wide-open Western Conference.

Pelicans-Wow Jazz just became quietly sp00ky. How much cap space do they have left? Can they pursue like Mirotic?

Magic-Utah is my second favorite team and I love this trade. It helps take pressure off Donovan so he can finally start taking more efficient shots.

Blazers-We always have a tough time against the Jazz and with Conley, I guess we getting swept this season series, hopefully Denver makes us face OKC in the playoffs instead of Utah again

Raptors-I like this deal for both sides. Conley will look great alongside Mitchel and Gobert in Utah. I could see them being legit contenders to go deep in the west now. On Memphis' side, they get some extra draft capital, and a solid rotation piece in Crowder. They also get off Conley's big contract, and can pass the reigns over to Ja Morant (who they are pretty clearly planning to draft, after this move).

This looks like one of those rare win-win trades.

Spurs-I really want Utah to win a ring. They've done all the right things and have awesome players on their hands. If their stars show out they could really throw off other teams and make history.

Mavericks-damn the most Memphis could get back was a #23 pick in an average-at-best draft, a protected future pick, an average 3&d guy, a backup-at-best point guard, and a 38 year old 3 point specialist?

absolutely love this for Utah

Warriors-**** Utah just became legit.

Celtics-Utah is going to be such an elite defensive team now damn.

UNK-Is it just me or does this make the jazz scary, that defense is still gonna be crazy but now they have another 20 ppg scorer coming in

Hornets-Great trade for Utah. Conley should make a great pair with Mitchell.

Grizzlies-At this point being a Grizzlies means being a fan of any team that has one our precious bois.

Blazers-****ing NW division. God damn

Pisttons-Good trade for Utah and a Conley Mitchell and gobert team will be really good

Nuggets-They're gonna be a huge pain in the *** in the playoffs. I wouldn't wanna face them round 1.

Knicks-Utah are gonna be a really good team next year. If they renounce all cap holds and decline Favors team option, they'll have 22.6 mil cap.

These are the 2 best options imo, one for more star power and one for more depth.

· They can trade Exum as a salary dump and go after Tobias Harris but their bench will be very weak as they will only be left with a MLE and minimum players.

· They can sign Mirotic, Thad Young or JaMychael Green and Terrence Ross with their cap and MLE

Warriors-Great move by Utah. Great opportunity for Mitchell to get some learning done under Conley on how to run an offense

Raptors-Wow what a great trade for Utah. Him and Mitchell are gonna be a great backcourt pair and Utah got the PG that they’ve wanted for so long and can run the offence

76ers-Can’t be sleeping on the Jazz now

Lakers-Damn, Utah got a PG in his prime on the cheap

76ers-They traded 4 nickles for a quarter

Rockets-Perfect compliment to Don and I'm super happy that Conley gets to be back on a winning team. **** this conference.

Wizards-Can't wait to see the defense! Perfect guard for Mitchell to study with and learn from.

Warioers-I gotta be the only one who thinks this is terrible for the Jazz? Conley can't stay healthy to save his life. Memphis fleeced them

Knicks-The Jazz are going to be much much better now without sacrificing defense while adding more offense

Clippers-With the league up in the air right now, the Jazz could silently become title contenders. This is actually a perfect fit for Mike Conley and his style of play in this team.

Mavericks-Utah pulling some big d**k moves with this perfect fit! Conley and Spider is gonna be a dope back court

Warriors-Conley, Mitchell, Gobert. That's a niceass big 3. Losing Crowder and Korver makes the surrounding cast a bit worse but that's fine. Jazz gonna be scary next year.

Magic-Saw this pop up on my phone and literally said OH ****

Cavalilers-I can't believe Grayson Allen is the centerpiece of such a blockbuster trade

Unk-So Utah got 3 All-Stars now!! Wait a minute...

Thunder-Ricky Rubio died for this.

Unk-As great as this is for the Jazz, it feels weird having Grayson Allen play for any other team. Seemed like a lifelong Utah pest that I'd get to hate for years to come.

"Raptors-Conley, Mitchell, ingles, gobert, and a stretch 4 would be diiiiiiirty. Utah is legit now"

(We did ship out two of our whitest dudes for Conley)

(Gawd I hope that happens to the smarmiest trio of bastards in the NBA: Ainge, Hayward and Stevens. Loving the turmoil Gordon has caused).

The NBA gets it better than jazzfanz smdh
To be fair, the general NBA fan probably has no idea about the Jazz cap situation, the fact that Conley can opt out after a year, the nature of the protection or lack thereof on the 2022 pick, and that the 2022 draft is going to have high school players for the first time (in a long time). They are probably just thinking, "Hey Conley is a really good player! What's not to like?"

But true Jazz fans, i.e. jazzfanz, need to take all of those other factors into account. Which is why I'm just "cautiously optimistic" and gave the trade a B.

I was initially very concerned about the opt out in Conley’s contract but I am less worried now. He will not be able to get that kind of contract again so he would not likely give up a 30M contract unless he hates it here. That is not likely the case. I think it is more likely that things go well. He likes the fit, signs a new contract with us and he finishes his career here.

What is Unk?

I like the part where it got de-railed into a discussion where they all agreed that Rudy got snubbed hard for the all Star team
