To be honest, I'm not at all surprised by the way things are playing out. I'll admit, after the road win against Denver, I was sipping the punch cautiously, but the loss to Toronto pretty much confirmed what I've believed since the beginning of the season.
I would agree that Favors, Kanter and Burks all need to be playing more, but more importantly, Utah should be looking to get trade value out of several players. To me, that means potential trade chips have to continue to get playing time. I've said all along that if Utah wasn't in the playoff hunt by March, they should look to move Al. I wouldn't at all be surprised to this happen, with CJ/Howard/Harris possibly involved as well.
Al seems like a really good dude, so part of me really wanted to see him shed that losing team label this year, but I didn't really believe it would happen. At this point, the last thing I want to see is for this team to win just enough games, that KOC stays the course to try and sneak into an 8th seed. If that happens, we may be watching re-runs for the next several years. I'd rather bite the bullet this year, and look to make a big jump sometime in the next year or two.
