Raja Part Deux = Eisley Part Deux

I was excited as anyone when Raja was brought back. I figured he had some gas left in his tank, especially if Kobe wanted him on the Lakers. It's now apparent he ain't even half the player he once was, just like when Eisley was brought back at the end of his career (and the same with Big T).

And from what we've seen through 5 games - and past seasons - is that CJ definitely ain't a SG. His strongest position is at SF.

KOC needs to do whatever it takes to get a starting SG. Trade AK, use the Harpring exception. I can't wait to see what these clowns do on the upcoming road trip. I'm guessing 0-4, with maybe a 15-pt loss at Charlotte the closest game they play.

I'm glad to see ya at least left Tag plumb outta it, eh, Glass? When Tag came back, he still had everything ya expected from him, includin bein willin and able to throw a coke can at Sloan's head, right up there with the best of them.

Uhh duh?

Did you seriously expect him to play like he did 6 years ago?

Seriously?

Or just play AK at the 2.

As has been stated repeatedly, Sloan needs to play a shooter (Hayward or CJ) more alongside a defender (AK or Bell)--just like a center more alongside a PF. Against the Warriors, it took 27 minutes of playing time and Bell fouling out for Sloan to figure out that RB wasn't working. By then it was too late.

Even this revamped Warriors team was very beatable. Who knows if Hayward would've been superior to Bell; he played only 4 minutes. The best lineup last night would have been DW-RP-CJ plus an even distribution of Millsap, Jefferson, and the centers (Elson and Fes) playing about 30 minutes each, adjusted up or down for effort and performance. The effort and performance both suggest that Jefferson should've played less. Millsap's 12 points in nearly 40 minutes suggests the same.

Coaching 101.

I was not excited at all about Raja coming back and hope we find a different solution to start, but it is way to early to throw him under the bus. I am guessing that if the FO had known Wes was going to bolt, they would have tried to keep Korver for his shooting and started CJ. Wes leaving has created a hole that is going to take some time to fill.

He's not half the player he was? He looks pretty similar to me.

I think he's he just a bit overrated. His shot is average, and his defense is not elite. Never was.
He has some battles with Kobe in the playoffs that got him attention, but he never shut Kobe down.
Bell is a nice player that does add something to team. Let's keep our expectations reasonable for this vet.

What do "expectations" have to do with anythang, eh, Rev? It aint about what I "expect," it's about what I DEMAND. I expect Bell (and every other player on this team) to play like total crap. I still DEMAND nuthin short of perfection.

I'm not overly concerned with Bell, he missed nearly an entire season it takes a long time to shake off that much rust. Despite being 34, he has very low mileage and should be productive throughout his contract. Shooting is the last thing to go, he'll be fine.

Wow, how did I forget Tag's curtain call? Maybe it was just SO bad I blocked it out of my head entirely.

No, Lunatic, I didn't expect for Raja to be as good as he was 6 years ago, or maybe I did...as I recall, he was splitting time with Giricek and shot 45%/40% (28 mins/per). I figured he could put up similar numbers for 20 mins/per game.

Its about time we got Stevenson back. We need hime too.
He is the key piece we have been waiting for.
