What's new

Randy Rigby meets with Michael Jordan in Utah.

It was a presentation that clearly demonstrated Jordan Pushed off and Bavetta fixed the game. After the presentation Riby officially requested the championship rings and trophy be delivered to the ESA by COB Friday.

Haha. I was actually going to mention something like that (Rigby asking for an official apology), but your remark was much more humorous.

I'll bet this has something to do with reviving the Rocky Mountain Review. Jazz need to convince 5-7 teams to commit to a new summer league. Rigby will likely be making several presentations to team executives to gauge interest.

"presentation" = "the discussions"

That's what Rigby does.
MJ going to get dunked!
Heard the only thing stopping it are negotiations to have his statue instead of the Angel Moroni atop the temple in Chicago. LDS President, Thomas S. Monson, said that's already been promised to Jabari.

Hope so. I really hope so.

I'll bet the RMR is a pretty bad first impression for young NBA players.

They get to come to the bright light and big city atmosphere of the Salt Lake Community college gym. Where there is insufficient air conditioning and the food is provided by a gut truck stand set up on the grass outside.

If we could just get a state fair judging of livestock between games the presentation would be perfect.

If they do bring it back they really need to change the venue. U of U, ESA, something not West Valley.......

ESA and Huntsman.

10 -14 day Tourney

or a regular summer league with 20 something games and rotating cities.

Teams from NBA, NBDL, Europe, China.

Starts July 20th.

Round Robin tourney with fabulous prizes (new cell phones, gaming systems, etc) to the winning players.

And Orlando is better? Sure, they're at the team's practice facility, but they're playing in a cramped space with no fans. Must remind them of playing n HS. Or not even that with zero fans. I'm sure the Jazz organization has heard a few GM's or owners talk about the review; otherwise there wouldn't be an effort to gauge the true level of interest to see if bringing it back is feasible. Orlando has grown to where not every team plays each other and everyone has a day off. Jazz could siphon off a few teams from there and maybe get a couple of teams in Vegas to commit to fielding another SL team a week earlier in Utah. I think it really helps some of these FA's show their talents when they can play for a couple of weeks with two different franchises.

Orlando's is TERRIBLE. I love going to the Las Vegas event.. because, you know, you can actually sit down and watch the games.

I can understand the initial appeal of Orlando to GM's - no distractions, only bball professionals, limited media interaction (a huge plus for teams). But I think for players it likely feels more like a scrimmage than an actual game. And several owners and GM's probably feel the same and remember the RMR as having been a very good intermediate alternative between the closed games in Orlando and the glitz of Vegas.
