Polka Dots - Not bad, kind of Belle & Sebastiany, but not really hitting my buttons right now. 6/10

I just got turned on to these guys by an interview Henry Rollins gave about something completely else, but he was asked what he's listening to now, and this is who he talked about. It's like Siouxsie joins Joy Division. Seriously.

Savages track: I actually kinda liked it when the track dropped. Gonna say 7.5. Would I buy their album? No-- but if it came on I'd bob my head to it. Good energy, cool vocals.

Group called Golden Rules-- just launched an LP called Golden Ticket and it owns. The rapper sounds like Andre 3000 kinda. Production is simply not to be ****ed with.

If the soundcloud link isn't working, watch this instead (but the soundcloud song is cooler cuz it's about Luther Vandross)

6/10

Dudes sounds like Andre 3000 if Andre 3000 was holding his nose.

which one did you listen to?

And I'm not trying to conflate the two (you simply won't meet a bigger 3stacks fan, confident in that) but I have yet to come across a rapper who sounds anywhere near as similar to him as this dude does. Definitely more high-pitched and nasally tho.

^^^

7/10, sick beat.

I will say Drake is my favorite rapper of this generation. Just so smooth and his lyrics are bawse. He has great beats that fit his songs too.

One of his more simpler songs, but oh so good.

Clown you have to rate

6/10 on both? Dam son. I'm here trippin from this album, about to drop way too much money on their vinyl that they dropped.

Well, the soundcloud one was more like 5/10 and the video one was more of a 6/10, so I just went with the best one for the overall score.

Bit too industrial sounding for my likes, didn't really have a melodic banging hook, y'know. I'll let WC rate it tho.

But it has Magic Johnson riding a piece of pizza in outer space....

Also not sure you know what "industrial" means.

1. Heavy on profanity, so watch out. It even spells it out for you in the video

2. 4/10

I like Drake's recent stuff, but I think his early stuff was meh.

6/10, not really my type of music.

Always used to get hyped when I listened to this song during basketball. Opposing team played it one time during warm-ups and I dropped a double-double on them.

I edited the original post, didn't realize there was that much profanity (also didn't think they would spell it out).

I like both. His recent and early stuff. They both have good qualities to them. He's bawse.

AWOLNation - Sail

I give this a 5/10. At first I liked it, but I have heard it more frequently and it just doesn't hold up to repeated listening for me.

How about this one?

I actually really liked this before Monster Magnet remade it a couple of years ago. One of my fave stones songs. But I like the MM version every bit as much. Here is the Stones' version.

Me rating a Stones song is not fair, but I'll do it. Overall 8/10, but for a Stones song, 6/10.

My co-worker just introduced me to the songs of Melody Gardot. The first 1:45 of this video is not music. Feel free to skip it. Or not.

Wow. 9/10. That's amazing, and would probably be even better if I wasn't at work.

This Lou Reed cover has been digging through my feels lately:

Magic and Loss (cover version)
3/10 (but better than the original - I'm generally a fan of Lou Reed and I'd rate the original about a 2/10, it's just not a song I particularly care for)

here's a Lou Reed cover where I liked the original a lot
