Raul Neto Appreciation Thread

Humble player, never complains, he gives the 100% on the court when given the chance.

He is proving he belongs in the NBA.

He is still enough young, I hope the Jazz will give him another contract.

I have to say he is one of the best finishers on the team. His and-1 yesterday was badass along with the pass from Exum.

Neto is always ready. He has a solid FG% despite playing sporadically. It looks like Mack won't be resigned - perhaps Neto will stay.

count me in as a fan. and I am with you that the Jazz gives him another contract.

The wont and why would he want one here? He will go somewhere he might be able to get some PT. This team is Exum/Hill or Exum/Vet-to-be-signed.

Because he's 3rd string material, and when Mack is let go, he'll be a third string PG. I am saying this with utmost dispassion. I don't care whether he goes or stays.

A team had Trey Burke as their primary backup PG for half the season. I dont think it's crazy to think he can be a backup somewhere. I just dont think at Neto's age he is going to settle for being a 3rd string guy anywhere, or at least he will want to be somewhere he can realistically have a path to becoming the primary backup.

Ya, maybe he'll leave then. /shrug

It is true, it depends on his ambitions.

He's been a great 2nd rd pick and is a tremendous bargain next year.. as for locking him up long-term I'm fairly confident that's not in the Jazz best interests or his.. It'd be cool if they could trade him at the deadline next year for a 2nd rd pick, that'd mean he'd put in above-pay grade service and it didn't really cost a damn thing, almost like they pulled him out of thin air...

I'm not sure what the market is on him, I'd imagine like 2.5M a year?!? He'd be better off on some ****/rebuilding team for sure... Knicks fans would LOVE him because he's scrappy and plays with effort and guile and flashes some nice skill, Pablo Prigioni was a crowd favorite for that type of stuff...

I really get hung up on this when it comes to Neto and the Jazz;

Exum's got this fantastically diverse skillset when you're talking about just about one of the (assumed 3)PG spots on the depth chart.. Really this should be capitalized on and Neto's just not that guy..

Here's why; Exum's a big/long defender, he's developing into a triple-threat has great chemistry with Rudy and best of all he's quick as a cat.. Many teams use 2 or 3 roster spots to try and get that mix..........

So to me if you just have Exum and 2 spots to fill in.. thats just fantastic or even ideal(for any other team with a PG problem and capspace)... there's so much firepower you can add to that.. and the Jazz have unselfish wings (and PF's).. obviously the key word should be FIREPOWER (thats what George Hill has provided)... So Neto obviously doesn't really fit that build, he's a true pg.. They can go after 3pt shooters or maybe 3nd type and one player who can shoot and might be a terror getting to the rim..

There's also a potential size advantage that can be built behind Exum on a depth chart, and Neto's a potential soft spot in that regard.. I just think if they take Neto long-term ultimately that means he's your diminutive PG and there's no room for another...... and ultimately there's better options out there for Utah, small guards who are sharper offensively.. Like a JALEN BRUNSON.

I think there's a very strong case for letting him play thru next year and just letting him walk. He could prove quite useful if an injury occurs, so it's actually a LOW - RISK move..

He will make a great point guard for CSKA Moscow or Real Madrid.

I could also see that happening. might be his best option TBPFH. There's such an influx of talent at PG on the way I don't think people could have possibly have grasped the full ramifications of that just yet..

It's not his choice until and unless the Jazz show they have no interest in retaining him. I could see it either way.

What do you guys think of Neto's play from last night? Do you think he deserves more minutes or at least consistent minutes?
