What's new

Raul Neto : new spectacular talent

Wonder if this is a stash type of a deal or if he's ready to come over now.

Probably a stash for a year. He's 21. He's basically got good court vision, range on his jimmy to NBA 3 point, and works to keep the play alive. Can't attest to his defense and he may want to want add some muscle. He's also "quicker than fast". Overall though, seems a typical 2nd round pick.

I found this funny..

47. Raul Neto | 6-2 | 179 | PG | Brazil | 21

Raul Neto: The Brazilian point guard is an ultra-quick, ultra-slippery playmaker who can usually get by his man off the dribble. However, his shooting needs work and he may not be strong enough to hang with NBA-level point guards. He's already 21, so some scouts are skeptical whether he can add the necessary strength. My wife thinks he's cute, so look for him to make 15 All-Star games, just to piss me off. -Nick Prevenas

Got him for a future 2nd rounder. I'm not seeing why they went after him.

My theory is that the Spurs were very interested in him while Dennis was the assistant GM over there and tonight he decided to troll the Spurs FO for teh lulz.

Fun fact: Apparently Atlanta gave Neto a promise that he'd be picked in the 2nd round, and Neto shut down his pre-draft workouts. I wonder if the Jazz had that deal with Atlanta lined up all along.

Well, this just beats all, doesn't it. While I was happy that the Jazz moved up for what looks like a legit starting point in Burk, I was annoyed that there wouldn't be another first round pick. Then they trade back in for Gobert and I got my wish, but at the cost of our second round pick. Which wasn't a big deal, being a second and all.

Then I check one more time before I go to sleep and the Jazz have a second round pick. Three players, just like they would have had, except that they didn't use a single one of their own picks, they just punked the rest of the NBA into picking for them.

Classic.

fun fact:

SALT LAKE CITY (June 27, 2013) – Utah Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey announced tonight that the Utah Jazz has acquired draft rights to guard Raul Neto (47th overall pick) from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for the Brooklyn Nets’ 2015 second round draft pick.

The 6-1, 172-pound native of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil averaged 8.5 points, 2.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 24.0 minutes per game for Lagun Aro GBC of the Spanish ACB League in 2012-13. Neto participated in and was named MVP of adidas EUROCAMP 2013. A member of the Brazilian National Team in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, Neto was also a member of the U19 Brazilian National Team in 2009 and 2011. In addition, the 21-year-old was a World Team Selection at the 2011 Nike Hoop Summit.

Point: we didn't even use our own pick, we used Brooklyn's pick, the same Brooklyn that just traded for Kevin Garnet and Paul Pierce who will likely be deep in the playoffs when the pick comes due. Assuming that the Jazz suck because they have no bench, we still keep our decent second round pick.

(but we won't suck, will we? no, I don't think so)

Ah, you beat me to it. I was just trying to find out the details. I remember we received that pick for giving them a broken-down Memo.

Here is a highlight of this brazilian guy, he is born in 92 and 6'2'' , he possess amazing driving and passing skills, court vision , good shot, he seems to have amazing potential, and as far as i know he played in 2011 nike summit hoops. I wonder when he is gonna enter the draft. It would be nice to see him in future in Utah

This piece of Nostradomasness is worthy of a sticky.
