I believe we can summarize as, Neto is the new jedi who will bring peace to the universe. His ceiling is Anakin Skywalker, his floor is Jar Jar Bings.
Thanks.
Any 2nd opinions??

haven't followed this thread at all.. rep for whomever willing to summarize how this board views Neto. Strengths/weaknesses.. comp.. floor/ceiling??
By all accounts, Neto is a great ball handler who likes to penetrate the paint either for a layup, drop off or dish it to an open 3pt shooter. He's a PURE point guard. He still needs to work on improving his shots and athleticism, but he seems to have that "edge" to him.
Dennis Lindsey while he was at SA was told about Neto by Tiago Splitter who said he's a really good player.
Discussion then turned to whether we bring him over this year or next. Sahlensguy and I think that he should come over next year - let Burke get acclimated to the system and the teammates and gain respect of the team first. Bringing Neto in straight away as a potential competitor to the starting spot could induce FEAR in Burke and as you know "Fear leads to Hate, Hate leads to Anger, Anger leads to Suffering".
We've learnt this lesson once before with DWill who was shunned by the Emperor (Sloan) and through that hate, became the Darth Vader of JazzFanz. We don't want Burke to be that. We want him to be inspired by LOVE and become the new Luke Skywalker.
Starting to get the picture?

Yes. Thanks. Will rep, promise.
One thing.. though I agree I would maybe wait a year to bring him over, I am NOT worried about Burke having an fear of him. That's one thing I really like about Burke... he wants to be the best and is self-aware. My MUCH bigger concern is Burke out playing a vet but sitting behind them in minutes. Fear can be a good thing, as long as a player has confidence they'll get the playing time their play deserves.

Where is the rep for my analysis?
Well yes, fear can be a good thing, if and only if, it is rooted in LOVE first and foremost.
Love is not God's reward. Love is his free gift. He sent His only son to die for our sins. You simply accept it, or you don't. That's it, and that's how you overcome fear in God.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
An organization can put guys in positions to succeed or in positions to fail. Eliminating fears puts players in the best possible position to succeed. It's how the Millers have treated Ty. It doesn't mean they will succeed, but it gives them the best shot. Running a club based on fear is what Jerry Jones does with the Cowboys. No thanks.
John 13:34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."
??? Are you still stuck in the Old Testament?
In the New Testament, Jesus specifially said that the GREATEST Commandment is to "Love the Lord your God with all your mind, and all your heart and all your soul and all your strength"???
I'm a Christian and proud of it.. and can confidently tell you that you should move this conversation elsewhere... have you never heard of "when in Rome?"
Hint: You're in Rome right now.

Yes, that's why Stockton had no competition, neither did Malone, nor Deron, nor AK, nor Hornacek, nor ... /sarcasm
Seriously, I can't think of a single great jazz player who had anything like what you are suggesting for Burke.

Which, by the way, was quoting the Old Testament. Deuteronomy, if I recall correctly.

No, I don't.
