Raul Neto re-signed

It's good to see Raul back too. I remember hearing him say that his dad is a big John Stockton fan when he was drafted by the Jazz. Btw the Jazz are starting to stockpile handsome players too. lol

Are people really getting upset that any player is getting paid mere THOUSANDS over the minimum they can be paid? In a league with 9 digits as the cap? Neto will receive, what, 600k over the minimum per year. And people think it matters to the quality of the club?

Am I reading this correctly. How delusional is this?

^I don't think it's the money. I think it's the player. I think Utah could do much better with that roster spot.

Why would anyone who's better than Neto sign to be the 13th player on a roster?

Thank you thank you thank you! This is the aspect that gets overlooked a bit. Yeah Shabazz Napier or whoever you name may have to sign a similar deal, but they sure as hell are going to go to a team where they are at least the first backup. Jazz are so deep, it honestly makes it less desirable because it will be much harder to crack the rotation.

And how is someone like Napier better than Neto? And if the Jazz did sign someone like Napier, it's using either the BAE or the MLE which they don't have to do with Neto, meaning the Jazz would have less money to sign potential free agents like Bjelica. Seems like a no-brainer to resign Neto unless he got Shelvin Mack money elsewhere.

I mean Napier was pretty solid and a big part of that Portland team that many forget had a great regular season. But that's besides the point, considering similar contracts, he (or somebody like him, AKA back-up PG) would choose a destination with more opportunity over the Jazz, meaning they would have to overpay which leads into your following points.
