ESPN did a re draft. Any one with ESPN insider care to give the results. I really want to see who they have the Jazz taking because obviously Hayward was not the right pick. Uh oh, now I'm going to get crucified for saying that b/c he is only a rookie
 
Let me guess. Here are the top 10. I haven't seen his re-draft, so you can point out where I'm wrong without violating the copyright.

I haven't seen Honz boasting about how good Hayward is since the season started....
in fact he's been in hiding.

I think it is still much too soon to tell on Hayward. O'Connor said two years when he was drafted, so let's wait at least until next season before proclaiming any firm judgements.
 
Thats what I hate. When you wait years for a lottery pick and then take a guy like Hayward and say wait a couple years is absurd. When you get a lottery pick, you want production immediately. You don't take a guy who is going to warm the bench like Hayward.

And I will eat crow if he ever amounts to anything

I don't think he has gotten a chance to do much of anything. Everytime he does play, he always impresses me somewhat. He was out of the rotation like 10 games (or less) into his rookie season as a 20 year old. Personally, I would like to see a little less Ronnie P, more Gordie.

Not hiding, but there simply isn't anything to say when he isn't playing. I still have faith, although I honestly thought he would play 10-15 MPG this year for us.
 
The draft class sucked, and I wasn't happy with the selection of Hayward, but I don't think he's going to be one of those rookie year phenom types. I think he's going to be a starter next year at some point and I think he'll be a solid player. He's never going to be an all star, but I think he will be a player that we all appreciate.
 
Hopefully working with Hornacek will help Hayward get his shots back. Seems like that's the only concern Coach Sloan has for him.

Not all lottery picks are created equal when you're talking about a range from #1 to #14. I think immediate production is reasonable in the #1-#3 or maybe #5 range, but after that...

Another factor is that the Jazz have a decent team unlike most (all?) lottery teams. For example, everyone loves Xavier Henry right now and thinks the Jazz should have drafted him, but he got drafted to a team with almost no bench. I bet if the Jazz had Henry and the Grizz had Hayward, the situation would be reversed. Henry would be nailed to the bench behind Bell and Miles, and we'd all be wishing the Jazz had picked Hayward, because he'd be playing (and might have worked out some of this issues) in Memphis.
 
Xavier Henry would play on the Jazz. The Jazz bench isn't exactly bursting with talent or ability either. Hayward has been unspeakably bad when he's gotten time, period.
