The Utah Jazz have opened the doors and are open for business, according to a report.

Sam Amico of USA Today joined Alex Kennedy on the HoopsHype Podcast and said the Jazz are more-than-willing trade partners for needs in search of possible upgrades.

“Listen, my understanding of Utah’s situation is that they’re as much of an open shop as there is in the league right now,” Amick said. “Whether it’s Derrick Favors or Rodney Hood or even RickyRubio, they want to turn the page. They want to maximize Rudy Gobert’s prime.”

Amick said he expects Hood is the most likely to be dealt, while Favors will be the subject of calls from other teams and Rubio would be a good trade chip, as well.

“Utah is going to look at everything right now. They obviously don’t feel like they have their core and they’re trying to figure things out,” Amick said. “But yeah, I think Rodney gets moved. I think Derrick will draw decent interest. And the Rubio one, I didn’t know what to make of it.

“But if they are truly open to parting ways with Ricky, I think he’d have a good market too.”

The NBA trade deadline is Feb. 8.

Sounds like DL is really going to gut the team.

Sorta strange where it said "They want to turn the page. They want to maximize Rudy Gobert’s prime.” Does that mean they are not looking for draft picks, but rather, productive players in return?

To me, turning the page means you're rebuilding from the draft, not reloading with players & contracts.

The Jazz are broken. They need a roster that fits together better and a plan for moving forward around Gobert/Mitchell.

I think that they should pivot to building around Gobert and focus on adding guys who are on manageable contracts that are between Rudy and Donovan age wise. Hard reboot and build around their strengths.

This is so sick... This **** is still all collateral damage from putting all their eggs in Haywards basket...

If Hood gets ran out of town like this, I don't like it..

I'm not gonna bump the infamous Harrison Barnes thread but I really do want to.. I'm solutions based tho as always, no need to cry over spilled milk..

Yeah, we're still reeling from Hayward walking out that's for sure. I'm really interested to see what DL could do to rebuild from this though. I know he won't give up.

Lol, we still don’t want him.

how was the pitfall not avoided in the first place tho... I can;t believe that with the stakes as high as they are they'd gamble like that...

So glad we dont have that garbage contract on our roster.

u ever seen or read to kill a mockingbird?

Me on Jazzfanz talking basketball, its like Tom Johnson on the stand talking about how he felt bad for a white woman.

U guys are like the Ewells united thru ignorance. Continue on.

You have some of the worst takes on Jazzfanz. Its makes it more entertaining that you are confident about it. Stick to your repeating scouting reports from the internet of HS kids, its your strength.

Remember that one time you told us all that it was a good thing Kings passed on Mitchell so they could get a better draft pick this year? Oh man, so good. Still makes me laugh. So does your determination to think we should have offered a max to Barnes who is an average player with a huge contract.

If we had picked up Barnes we would not have made the run we did last year into the playoffs that was great to watch and then we would suck this year and have his borderline un-tradeable contract clogging our team up.

You cant troll Jazz fans for having a down team. We have Mitchell, we will be okay.

BTW, who is "your team" that you picked this year?

I’ve got faith in DL. 2 of our 3 most important players walked out the door for nothing for reasons of their own and the most important player ran out the clock this offseason where the Jazz has a very limited number of players to sign. DL drafted Donovan Mitchell which is the absolute best thing that could have even happened last offseason. Donovan Mitchell was the best guy or there we could have got, and DL brought him here. We need to make moves but it’s complicated and will probably happen in the last 24 hours of the trade deadline. A couple moves now, a couple in the offseason, and some more development of players the Jazz are going to be okay, especially if we can manage to get a decent draft pick.

Donovan will also get better going forward, this season is wearing on him and he’s basically admitted as much talking about the amount of games. This season just seems like one of the toughest schedules I’ve ever seen the Jazz play as well. December was ridiculous and January hasn’t been great. We get one more on the road just to come home for a game to play the Warriors and then go back on a road trip.

Between the trade rumors, horrible schedule, a rookie being your guy,and sickening offseason it’s crazy this team has as good of an attitude as it does. Donovan has been thrown through the ringer in his first year in the NBA. A brutal schedule, plenty of losing, franchise put on his back, and the kid and this team aren’t falling apart like some locker rooms right now. There’s guys out there playing like they won’t be here at times, but any Jazz fan should be excited. Things will only get better so long as health holds out for the 2 Center peace’s, not to mention Exum who I still really believe in.

I like Harrison, met the guy quite a few times, but damn I do not understand how PGAB still thinks he's anything above a decent NBA player.

If Amick is to be believed, then at least the Jazz and DL specifically, are cognizant of the problems that we all see. It's a Gobert and Mitchell world and the rest of the team has to slot in behind them.

Spacing, spacing, spacing. That's all I can think about when I look at Donovan. Rubio's deficiencies are affecting Mitchell and it's well documented here. Gobert's inability to play beside another typical big body is apparent. I think we all got a glimpse of what Quin is capable with when he has hot, consistent shooters and plenty of spacing.

So, clear the board. Give Mitchell space to operate. Give Gobert the keys to the Key. Ball movement, spacing, etc. Euro style. There are a lot of guys that aren't fitting that mold and probably never will.

I'm excited to see how they go about this. Hayward continues to kill this team even months after the fact.

I think DL will be open to anything. Draft picks may be ideal but if he can get a really good player or players on workable contracts that fit with Gobert and Spida I think he'd consider it. We have Gobert for the next 3/4 years and the ability to keep Spida past his rookie deal. So as depressing as this season has been in terms of record we really aren't in bad shape. We have our big 2 locked up. We just have to restructure the team around them.

Wish I could rep.

He wants to gut the team like the Lord of Bones wanted to gut Jon Snow

I mean, why not? We're not going to get anywhere with what we got so yeah. Go for it. Althought, I'd rather have Hood over Burks
