Reputation Comments, positive and negative

Franklin argued openly that he wanted his name changed and said you mods refused.

Just an FYI, Franklin wasn't his real name, wasn't part of his real name and doesn't rhyme with his real name. So I don't think he was trying to change it to protect his identity.

Thanks for the information.

For what it's worth, I form my opinions in a net of fiction, sort it out my own way and just do my own take on it. It's really a waste of time arguing facts with lawyers.

I thought Franklin might be a female person in real life except for his references to drinking while posting in here. . . . that just struck me as a guy thing. The claim of being a government employee also affected my conclusions. Nobody would make up a claim like that unless either they idolized absolute power and had none in real life, or they deliberately wanted to throw doubt on everything they said.

I can only guess what the real facts might be behind all of the various professed/asserted statements from all parties who might actually know the truth.

The reason I'm honoring Franklin with this "concern" is that I appreciated his contributions in here and just would hope we don't lose him forever or lose more folks like him who were capable of interesting and informative discussions.

Having a totally negative judgment schema like a list of infractions is/should be a substandard model for running a forum. How about being able to "report" significant contributions in a positive light, and how about Mods giving kudos for good work, something that could count against infractions, so you only get banned when there is little positive work from the poster. . . .

Oh, that just takes us right back to the ownership and management issues we can never really shake entirely even if the owner/management is way above par or even excellent beyond what any of us could possibly deserve. As long as we're human, it is our common condition that there will be better things some of us could hope for in our dealings with others.

I see the point about having "moderation" and preventing the various worst ways we might behave. I also see the point that this is a private establishment where the owner/management is fully entitled to their own way of doing things.

Like I said elsewhere, as long as you see discussions like this it pretty much is self-evident that the owners/management are trying to maintain a fairly advanced level of discourse and it isn't simply a babylonian type of autocracy. . . . . you know, like whoever the king suspects as disloyal is just gonna be hauled off to the snakepit.

I agree with you 100% here. I thought that, overall, franklin made a good and valuable contribution to the board.

The problem is, if mods start picking and choosing who will be subject to the rules, and who won't, this issue could get really messy. There is no reliable way to quantify a specific poster's contribution.

True of the whole human condition. Sad, too.

I have the highest rep per post in this community. It's simple math. The odds of me posting something earth shattering, thought-provoking, inspiring and/or pieces of my infinite genius are far greater than any human that's ever logged onto Jazzfanz.com and made an account. The numbers speak for themselves. I knew from an early age I was destined for greatness. It is now that I realize my destiny lay in a relatively small internet community. Everyone in my daily life will be happy to hear of this revelation. Who shall I tell first? This is so exciting!

If I get negatively repped for this post I rest assured the mods with unquestionable integrity will negate it, as this post has been a vintage example of how I earned such a powerful reputation (per post) to begin with and am the quintessential reliable, quality poster.

After all, it is the leaders of this site who helped cultivate my cunning intellect and razor-sharp wit by allowing me to use this forum as my personal congregation.

I would be happy to help the mods figure out who should stick around and who should get the heave-ho. I have a very simple, objective process. Thanks to the impeccable Moevillini I can now see who has positively and negatively repped me. Those who negatively repped me at any point shall be given an abrupt infraction. Should they choose not to repent publicly for their ill-informed decision, they shall be stricken from this glorious community forever (or until they make a new username).

Fair enough?

I can see how your math works. It's called extrapolation. From an interpolative relationship to reality.

And just when I had finished putting this babe to bed with my lullaby.

However, for sheer fantastic humor, I'd pos rep you for it, except I've given out more than my share today already.

I love how when I give out neg rep, I get tagged back in about 5 minutes. Kicky included.

This is just untrue. For example, I know I haven't neg repped anyone in the past week because I've generally been away from the board (I think I've made about 5 posts total).

However in that period of time (which includes this statement by Archie):

"I hate reading your posts, but I love neg repping you." 06-20-2011 09:20 PM Archie Moses

and

"Non straight" 06-24-2011 06:30 PM Archie Moses

We all know you don't like me. This fact apparently means more to you than anyone else, but please don't go around erroneously telling everyone I'm engaging in the same kind of juvenile behavior that you are.

Um, you're a liar straight up, guy. Heheoeepeecaca

Archie, I can see all of the reputation comments. And I can verify that sirkicky has only left a neg rep for you once. That was on Jun 7.

You, on the other hand have left neg rep for sirkicky on Jun 7, Jun 20, and Jun 24. So possibly the Jun 7 was in retaliation (his neg rep was after your neg rep), but he certainly hasn't done any retaliation for the Jun 20 or Jun 24 neg reps. Just like he said.

Don't be so quick with the "L word".

I never said he did for those ones. I'm just saying he retaliated on me at least once, guy. To deny that, it's just false. Hehepeepeecaca plus, he has left me more than one neg rep.
