Restricted free Agents

My hopes, Utah trades Memo and Bell, for draft picks, young potential players, and cap space. Don't resign Ak and then use there cap space on a few Restricted free Agents. Lets say Utah makes those trades and gets 13 Million off the books and that Utah needs to include the 12th pick with Memo. And the caps set at 56 million. With new Mid Level Exceptions at 4 years 4 Million Max. Utah would be on the hook for roughly 42 million. So Utah has 14 Million to burn. Who would you pick?

Restricted Free Agents, I'd target

Pg.
Rodney Stuckey
Aaron Brooks
Marcus Thornton

Sg/Sf
Arron Affalo
WIlson Chandler
Reggie Williams
Marco Belinelli
Thad Young
Yi
Jeff Green

Pf/Center
Marc Gasol
Deandra Jordan
Spencer Hawes

I'd make the Suns pay for Brooks (offer him 6 million a year, for 5 years) then offer Green 8 Million a year for 5 years. Then trade Millsap for Peitrus/Lopez and use our Pick on the best avble player. If it worked out at Utah got Brooks and Green

Harris, Brooks
Hayward, Peitrus
Green, Miles
Favors,Green
Jefferson, Lopez

Aaron Brooks hasn't been great in Phoenix and Jeff Green has been miserably bad in Boston. Having said that, they both were great in Houston and OKC respectively.

I like Brooks but I don't see us going after him with Harris on the books (and Watson likely getting re-signed at minimum) but I wouldn't mind going after Green or Afflalo.

Definitely gotta get in on Afflalo and Chandler and see what the going rate is. IMO you gotta throw a bone at Marc Gasol too, and trade Millsap if you can land him.

I would target Wilson Chandler and Jeff Green. Both seemed to underachieve with their new teams but it is because their minutes were inconsistent once they got there. With either one of them at the 3 spot, we are set at our starting 5 with Millsap, Miles and 2 lottery picks coming off the bench.

I'd like Green, but is Boston going to trade a home-town favorite to get him, and then just let him get away? no.
The Millsap for Gortat + Peitrus trade is rubbish.

I think it was Lopez+Peitrus for Millsap. And I thik Jeff Green would be an amazing fit at the 3/ backup pf for the Jazz. And I think that Boston, won't want to spend 9 Million a year, for him to come off the bench? ANd I think Green would make a better starter at the 3 then the 4. Maybe use 9-10 Million on Green and save the rest, to help another team make a deal at the trade deadline while getting a pick back aswell.

Harris-Hayward
Hayward-Pietrus
Green-Miles
Favors-Green
Jefferson-Lopez

Plus Picks, thats a pretty deep team with actual size!

Don't think we have $9M to spend. I think the Celtics will not match a contract offer like what Millsap got.

I was thinking more long term on that one. Brooks is a small, speedy, got an amazing 3 point shot, point guard. But id much rather Jeff Green over Brooks

Should've dumped Slow Al and Harris to throw the farm at Gasol. We don't know what the next CBA will afford anyone, but you can guarantee the Jazz don't have the cap space to offer anything the Grizzlies won't match.

PG: Who cares?/Hopefully Earl Watson or something/Price or Weaver
SG: Hopefully Bell gets his *** shipped to the worst destination in the NBA for a 2nd rounder in order to acquire David Lighty, Charles Jenkins, Darius Morris, or Justin Holiday/Hopefully not CJ
SF: Hayward/who cares?
PF: Favors/ Millsap
C: Gasol/Favors

Look at THAT team!

And Id be ok if they drafted Reggie Jackson to be the pg.

Gasol is staying in Memphis. Get over it already. Jazz are more likely to sign Howard than Marc with the spree Memphis is on. They guaranteed Z-Bo they'd go after him hard. He's not selling a winner short, and they aren't letting him go.

Sorry to wake you all from your wet dreams.

I already knew it wasn't happening, but with cap room, there could've been a possibility especially since they just extended Randolph the moon and they still owe Gay another moon already.

There are probably 2 Restricted FA's we should decide to go for, but it might be best to go for the Unrestricted FA's we want and need first.
There will be no waiting or matching with them if they like what we offer.

It's kindof like picking players to play in a playground game..... only with the added caveat that players can say no, and if they do everyone knows the next person was not our first choice.

Go for Deandre Jordan. KOC has wanted a defensive center for years and now he is right there to sign. Very young, extremely athletic, can finish real well and rebounds well. Only problem is Favors would have to come off the bench unless you would want to trade Al. I would move Milsap to 6th man in either of these situations though. Then draft Biyombo and you got a very solid core of big men.

I like the idea of Jordan but I see the Clippers retaining him at almost anycost. Plus, I'd really like to see Jeff Green on the Jazz playing Small Forward. And maybe bringing over Tomic, Keeping Fez, or trading for Lopez. Plus Green would be a perfect back up at Power Forward for 15 minutes a game. And I think that Utah could get some pretty good talent from Millsap.

Absurd pipe dream.

Rather have Millsap than Green. They are both tweeners, neither one big enough to play PF or small enough to play SF.
I doubt the Jazz go after a RFA because fo their experience with Maggette and Terry, but if they do, I would go for a center with Marc Gasol, Deandra Jordan, or Spencer Hawes, in that order. But, if Nene tests the waters as a free agent, I'd focus on him.

Come on grammar police, punish the man for not spelling DeAndre right. I get ripped for not having 2 L's on Millsap
