These trades have aged well.

Jazz out: An all star and a starting player
Jazz in: An All star and a starting player, 4 rotational players (including a likely all rookie team player), another rookie who just won a national championship last season who has good size and great athleticism and balled out last game, plus leandro bolmaro, and THT. Plus 7 draft picks and 3 pick swaps.
Just masterful work by ainge.

And we got younger, and more financially flexible to boot.

Out were 2 legit all-stars including a legit 3X DPOY. Stellar trades. Seriously might end up being the best of DA's career.
 
The Gobert trade is easily one of the best trades in NBA history. The Donovan trade for now appears to be great for both teams. If he leaves after his contract or demands a trade before its over then its not so great for them.

I assume you mean this year that Gobert is not an all-star and just a starter. Although he is playing well again he wont make the all-stars this year. But we did trade away an all-star, all-NBA DPOY player in Gobert. Mitchell is probably all NBA player this year.
 
We win the Don trade on my opinion specially because of Lauri progress.
We loose by far on Bogey trade as KO is bad.
Regarding Rudy trade, we may win specially if Colin and Kessler become the great player they can be. Time will tell.

But for me overall, great job from DA.

Cleveland side of the Donovan trade is truely assessed in the postseason. They sold the farm as well, so the meter is not whether the are a better regular season team or not.

Also last year before Allen got injured they were already a hot team on the rise. Maybe they are better now.. at least they have been healthier.

Personally I think its a win-win trade.. but I'm not yet ready to buy Cavs stocks.

Exactly. They HAVE to go far in the postseason and Don needs to play a large role in that.

I will say I watched their game the other night since they were playing a later game against Denver. Donovan was sitting and they looked downright awful.
Mobley seems to be in a sophomore slump. Opposing teams have figured out they need to get physical while defending Garland. I don't think they have a single NBA wing on their roster although they can try and do something at the deadline with their very limited assets, thanks to Ainge, ha!
 
As much as I liked Rudy, getting off that contract was a great move. Replacing him with Kessler really looks good so far. Don was always going to be a question on his desire to be here, so great move trading him for a guy with so much upside and more size. The rest is icing on the cake. I'd say it was great work by our front office, especially trader Dan.
 
Both teams are happy with the Don trade right now. We will see how Ochai progresses and what comes of those Picks. Don is becoming a Superstar in this league and he will need to lead Cleveland to a deep playoff run this season.
I would say we won the Rudy trade...

If you compare Don and Lauri stats this season (eliza huge did a few days ago) you will fnd that they are actually very similar with Markennan actually coming out on top imo. Plus he is cheaper.
Pretty crazy to think we may have got the better player in that trade PLUS other rotational players (ochai and sexton might even be starters some day) PLUS 3 picks PLUS multiple pick swaps.
Im sure cleveland is happy to have donovan but we killed it in that trade. Im cery confident that in 3 years that trade will look very very good for the jazz and we will have no regrets while the cavs fans will. Especially if he leaves for new york or something.

The rudy trade is looking like one of the most lopsided trades in nba history.

so far so good. What happens from now will be fascinating. Will DA now be super cautious with his assest and team building like in Boston or will he now really blow it up to bottom out the second half of the season, make trades to improve .. fun times
 
Cleveland trade is a win for both teams. I think there's a contigency here who don't want to admit it, but Mitchell has balled out this year. He seems to have taken that last step to superstardom, and he's playing like the player I always knew he could be. I think they are going to be very good for the next few seasons, with Mitchell leading them. Maybe they can get Lebron back for a last dance after the Lakers finally collapse after this season.

The Minnesota trade was a disaster--for Minnesota. They had all these assets and a young star in Ant, and they totally bungled their chance. When you make that big trade, it's so important you get it right, or you're cooked. It's sort of like how we got it wrong with Conley--we had one shot, the assets for one big trade, and we whiffed. But it's a much more extreme version. Brought the wrong guy in, and overpaid for him. Vastly overpaid for him. Like, i can't imagine what the other offers for Rudy looked like, but I guarantee they were not even close to that. How Ainge got them to bite so hard... the man might be the Devil himself. And they're not going to be able to trade his contract. It's going to be a major albatross by the end of it. It'll probably cause a regime change in Minnesota and will go down as an all-time fleece.
