RIFT IN JAZZ LOCKER ROOM

I actually think this is pretty good leadership from Donovan. He mentioned protecting guys on the team that have kids, I’d bet those are the other guys in the locker room who are mad at Rudy. I think he’s holding Rudy accountable to those guys. Now if he decides to make it a petty and personal long-term issue, my feelings will change.
He neglected to mention all the fans and their stuff he’s been touching the past couple weeks himself.

This... He was as careless as anybody else.
Hell no he wasn't. Donovan had zero clue he was sick. He is and has been asymptomatic. Rudy, however, had symptoms. He was sick. Yet, he still goofed off in the media room. And Rudy did something in the lockerroom that annoyed all his teammates.

Rudy didn't know he had the virus but his actions were still poor. Nobody is upset at Rudy for doing normal basketball actions with regards to fans. They are upset because his actions in the media room and lockerroom.

This witch hunt of Donovan is ridiculous. His interview today was fantastic. He answered the questions honestly and to the point. It's not his job to save Rudy's rep. He wished the big man well. What else is he supposed to do?

Rudy has only gotten sick the night before the cancelled game.

This Rudy or DM talk is the worst. It better not come to that because we need both. Talking on the court, we were best with DM, Royce, Ingles, Bog, and Rudy and Clarkson off the bench. So far we don’t know if Conley can ultimately help.
Off the court they all seem like pretty good people.

Imo something changed in the locker room. Something going behind the scenes. Otherwise why the drama when things get tough? Why did Ingles lose confidence pretty much this whole year? Why the “Conley will come off the bench” then 2 seconds later it changes to Ingles? There are other things. Something just feels off and this whole Rudy/DM thing is just the latest known part.

We need both, but frankly we need more than that. We need all clicking. We need less selfishness on the court. Gobert does need fed the ball more with better passes. He also needs to catch more passes. Joe and others need to take the open shot. Go with the hot hand more. Play DM and Conley together less. Work together to overcome the player weaknesses to have a cohesive 5 that accomplished more than 5 individuals.

I love both guys but don't act like DM wasn't wrapping his arms around Rudy then signing autographs for kids the same night. He pushed his limits as much as anybody.

No one is on a witch hunt for Donovan. Only thing anyone has really said is they're surprised his frustrations we're aired out in public when it very easily could've been handled behind close doors. I get it the dude is scared of what might be but that's not a reason nor the time to let frustrations come out for the entire world. And get off this ivory tower that Donovan and only Donovan didn't know he was sick. When Rudy had his media incident he was asymptomatic and didn't know he had the virus as well but that doesn't fit your narrative. I love Rudy, I love Don. The Jazz need both if they want to win. Neither is LeBron and neither can carry a team to a championship alone.

Rudy's media room antics and Rudy's actions in the lockerroom are not the same as game hugs and autographs.

My point has been the same all along - we can't judge Donovan's reaction to the lockerroom incident until we know what happened. Until then, everybody should lay off Donovan and sympathize with Rudy as patient zero. There is no reason to pick sides.

How do you know he’s patient 0?

How do you know Donovan didn't give it to Rudy? Neither are or have crazy symptoms.

Don is certainly seeing fans kinda frustrated with his response. I do hope he realizes we all love him, just don’t think he handled this very well.

I'm wondering if Rudy did something "funny" like fake coughed on DM's phone. He seems pretty apologetic. At the same time DM was signing autographs and interacting with fans and other players. If this continues to blow up then there were other issues. If they really are brothers then they make up by now... you get in a fight and you figure it out once your head has cooled. Based on the interview that has not happened.

The DN Beat reporter covering the Jazz said she was really angry after the OKC cancellation and then testing. She didn't say why she was angry or at who but at the time it was written I can guess Rudy.

I'm talking about the perception he is patient zero. I don't care if he is or isn't.

You guys are completely missing what is most important here - Rudy's actions were terrible in the lockerroom. Donovan is upset by Rudy's actions. Who is first doesn't matter.

Y'all are attacking Donovan but has any other Jazz player come to Rudy's defense in all this?

So we’d likely have to trade Rudy and would probably get 55 cents on the dollar for him at this point.

The Wiz could make some sense.

I’d want their 1st, Bertans and Hachimura.

Don't but they have interacted with him a little via social media. They're trying to stay out of it.

Fair. I'm done with it until further stuff develops. I love Donovan and Rudy. I think a lot of unnecessary drama was caused by going to the media. Had Don had the same answer today, but he hadn't went to the media, fans would understand. The part that some of us are "extremely frustrated" about lol, is the media part of things. Hope Don and Rudy can both get well, happy they are doing good and not having any bad issues. I'm sure it sucks not being able to leave their homes at all. Is it 14 days then? Or will they have to be tested again? Wonder when they'll get out of quarantine.
