Rockets going hard after Jimmy

No, Haywood truly did want Rubio as a teammate and DL made it happen:

"Hayward reportedly told the Jazz that he would enjoy playing with Rubio, a pass-first point guard acquired from the Minnesota Timberwolves as a replacement for George Hill, who left Utah to become a free agent after developing a good relationship with Hayward in his lone season in Utah."
That sounded strange at the time, and it sounds strange now. Hayward likes to make plays for others and himself, and fit really nicely with Hill who didn't need the ball in his hand to be effective. It really surprised me that he pushed for Rubio (if that's what happened), who needs the ball in his hand a lot.

That is a good point. Worked out wonderfully for the Jazz though as Hill and his would-be massive contract went away.

Yeah it's really strange how it all worked out for the best. Goes to show as long as you have a good heart, stay true to yourself and don't betray or hurt others, things will turn out well for you... (I'm talking about the Jazz Org. but it may also be true for human beings in general as well).

that's not a "push". At all. That could also be an answer to a question from DL.

DL: Haywood, what do you think about playing with Rubio
GH (with wet diaper; thinking of video game): I'd enjoy that.

Still not an active push. That’s not what happened. The FO ram the idea by Haywood, he gave a thumbs-up as he was out the door.

We could have Dennis Lindsey show up and say, "We traded for Rubio because we thought Hayward would be more likely to stay" and you'd be like, "Nooooo... you're wrong!"

What you said here wouldn't mean the Hayward himself PUSHED for the trade. Even if the Jazz made the trade because they thought it would please Hayward, that doesn't mean Hayward pushed for it. Do you not see the difference?

What I said was the trade happened in hopes of Haywood signing here. You can read my prior posts in this thread to figure that one one.

OK, seemed like you were arguing the point that Hayward actively pushed for the trade...

Unicorns and rainbows to the victims of this tragedy. I mean what more can we do than to wish them unicorns and rainbows?

No. I said the trade for Rubio happened because they wanted to please Haywood and thought he'd sign here (especially after he said he wanted to play on the same team as Rubio). I believe it to be true as I believe the Tribune writer plus it doesn't seem too far-fetched with when they flew Rubio from Spain and had him, Ingles, Rudy and Hood visit Haywood in San Diego along with DL, Snyder, the Millers, Bryant and others. The Jazz were going to do just about anything but in the end it all worked out great.

That unicorn stuff was intended for a different thread...

Your naive of you think Boston is going trade Hayward ever. Only team I could ever see him go to is the Pacers. Brad Stevens is not going to let him leave

31.2 / 32.7 / 34.1 million for the next 3 years. If Danny Ainge gets an opportunity to trade for AD and is able to move Haywood instead of Tatum, Brad Stevens will be driving Gordo to the ****ing airport. You can take that to the bank.

There were thoughts that Minny would challenge us for years in the NW, now they are the doormats or the least of our concern.

Depends on what they get back for Butler. They were a really good team last year before he got hurt, and could still be good depending on how things work out. The NW is probably the best division in the NBA right now. Whoever wins it will likely be a little more lucky health wise than the rest.

Do we have to bring up Hayward in every thread? Boston is not going to trade Gordon Hayward because nobody wants a 3rd or 4th option at $30+ per year. Maybe, just maybe, some team takes Hayward if they get the Sacramento pick, the Memphis pick, and somebody like Rozier or Brown. But that ain't gonna happen especially as a 3rd or 4th team involving Butler, Houston, Minny, etc.

Houston might fall off the cliff this year. Capella isn't in a contract year. Paul isn't in a contract year. Harden got his MVP. PJ Tucker is a fighter but he's not enough to inspire everybody every night. If Houston doesn't get Butler, it could end up being a bad year in Houston. They might have to fight to even make the playoffs.

BINGO, stock on heimwoo is all-time low. He needs to raise his stock before teams even consider him....not even the dumbest of GMs would go for him right now.
