Rockets want to trade Thomas Robinson for cap space - Discuss

Regardless of whether or not we need a stretch four I still think TRob is a good player and a good asset. Ryan Anderson would be ideal ala Memo Okur. *drools*

To me, it's pretty simple. Derrick Favors picks up 2 fouls in the first quarter. What do you do? Bring in Gobert and slide Kanter over to the PF spot? Gobert may not be ready. Marvin Williams is out for a while.

TRob would be a solid back-up big. Maybe he shouldn't have gone #5, but as a back-up, I don't think you'll get more talent. He's also young and cheap, and he comes with upside. The alternative is to give more money to Carl Landry.

Do you prefer Earl Clark or AF Aminu? That's what you have to compare it to.

TRob is definitely underachieving, in a way to warrant a bust tag in no time!
3.3 M even may be too much for him!
But I'd too give him a chance with this price tag.
Should he pan out, great value!
If not, bad luck!

I'm sure Houston's asking price would be way too high anyway. 1st round unprotected or a couple first rounders.

I have the impression that Garcia did well for the Rockets!
Rocs-Fans are disappointed in TRob, but like him for he is said to have some upside!

To everyone that doesn't want robinson because he sucks or is a bust or whatever...... Isn't that kinda the point of getting him?..... We dont want a guy who will take minutes from favors and kanter and we also want to semi tank for a good pick in next years draft..... plus its nice that his contract will expire soon.

Robinson seems like the PERFECT guy to get for next year.

Houston was just asking for a first round pick and were discussing it with Chicago and Indiana during the draft. It's mostly a salary dump. A future first should be okay.

He has potential, he won't take minutes away from Kanter and Favors, he's cheap, they'll be selling low, he fits in with the youth movement and tanking game plan.

Sign me up.

But what would we even give Houston?

He's talented, young, athletic, cheap, and would be willing to play back up to Favors. What else are we looking for here? If he could score we wouldn't have a chance.

He's worth nothing as soon as D12 agrees. Trade Exception str8 up, no assets. Before that I don't see them trying to move him.

I think teams are reluctant to help the Rockets get Dwight. They're sitting back and watching Houston waive players like Brooks and Delfino.
