Rodney Hood Refuses to Enter Game in Garbage Time

How would them not extending the QO help him in any form or shape? He can simply tell them he doesn't want to play for them, instead of trying to ruin his own career.

If he’s unrestricted he likely gets more FA interest. Teams may forego making an offer because of it is viewed as a good bargain then the Cavs just match. Teams won’t want to tie up their space for something that won’t get done.

Many guys have tried to tell teams not to match or they don’t want to be there and it has failed.

He's already 25. How much more can he make? 100m? 150m max? Not enough for a moon base.

He won’t make anywhere near that... this next contract was supposed to be the biggest of his career... might compose 75% of his lifetime earnings... not career... lifetime. It’s a lot of pressure.

Haha, that's what I always say to people when they say "That's more money then I could ever spend." I'm like, "Until I can afford my own space fleet, I don't have enough money."

Why would this contract be bigger than his next vet FA contract?

For the previous, I'm not buying any of that. It doesn't make a lick of sense. A guy who's struggled mightily and saw his stock plummet, would sabotage his image, in order to get the Cavs not to extend QO, because that would improve his market...

Of course none of that happened. He was pouting and saw being inserted into the game in garbage time as an insult. It's Rodney Hood, not Dr. Evil.

He will be 30 (if he signs a 4 year deal) next time he’s a FA and hasn’t been super durable.

Not saying the specific act was premeditated but he might just be being and ******* behind scenes. He was doing it here before we traded him (rumored) so he could get traded. Why wouldn’t he do the same thing there now that he doesn’t like his role.

If I was his agent, I would get him to sign a one year deal with a team like Atlanta, Brooklyn, Dallas, Phoenix, etc. He could probably start at most of those teams at either SG or SF. If he plays well, his 2019 offers could be pretty strong.

It almost scares me to think he could go to Phoenix and re-invigorate his career with Igor. Hood at SF with Booker at SG with Ayton at C is pretty solid.

Hood missed like parts of 2 or 3 games with the nervous indigestion issue. Let's not over blow what that is. A lot of performers get that. I dont think the nerves get to him that badly in a game, but I'm sure the pressure weighs down on him throughout the season.

My theory has always been that the day he scored 30 on Kobe Bryant in the first half of that Laker's blowout he changed. That was his 2nd year, the year everyone got really excited about him. Then he got injured a lot in his 3rd year and eventually got replaced in the starting lineup by Ingles. Judging by his exit interview he was really salty about that. I think that kind of transformed his attitude and he just became an out and out selfish score first type player.

That game was the moment I had serious doubts about Hood. To go 7/7 from 3 in the 1st half and not to put up a shot in the 2nd.... he was as passive as Ive seen anyone be while being as hot as Id seen anyone.

Lol wut? It was a blowout and he barely played in the 2nd half.

meanwhile mitchell was trying to drive a golf cart onto the floor even though he was injured.

we got really lucky on this one. imagine how depressing the parallel universe is where we don't draft Mitchell, and are living in the Rodney Hood era.
We'd have a great draft pick this year.
