What's new

Rondo being shopped hard.

Well...yes. But realistically:

Millsap + Burks + GS pick for Rondo

That's an offer they would have to consider, if they're really willing to part him.

make it like this:Kanter or Favors+Burks+GS pick for rondo, this will be the only exceptable trade offer for Boston, any other offer people make here,Boston will take them as an insult,,i know truth hurts

A bit too much. Jefferson+Hayward+GS pick for Rondo+4th big. That'd be better if we must give up a young player.

Sorry, but I find that insulting as a Jazz fan. No way I'd give them Favors, Burks, and a shot at a guy like Quincy Miller. There's just no way.

Millsap + Burks + GS pick is a very legitimate offer, imo.

On the other hand, we have folks here saying GH for Rondo. Only (literally) JazzFanz.

even that is way too damn high for me.

Jefferson or Millsap + CJ + GS pick

Yeah, I'd probably rather give up Hayward. I'd also rather give up Jefferson than Millsap, but I'm not sure they'll go for it; they've had Jefferson before, and Millsap would probably be a better long term option for a rebuilding team.

you are giving 2 unproven rookie and life is like a box of chocolate GSW pick for a solid-allstar guard,,yes, thats a insult for all jazfans

That's precisely how I feel. I'd just hate giving up Burks. In my opinion, Hayward will be a nice player who can be counted on to contribute. Burks has serious all-star potential. On top of that, would Rondo even be happy in Utah? I'm not sure if I'd take the risk. Maybe. But if it gets rid of Jefferson (who hurts you even when playing well), then YES.

Yes, it's terrible. Why not go ahead and give up all 4 and we can have Rondo give Jefferson the ball down low and then sit and watch!

yea,i know it hurts, but this is how trades work,u need to give something good to get something good,,u cant just give players in numbers that u dont need to get a single good player,,u all dreaming

Nobody is suggesting Harris+Howard+CJ for Rondo. That would be awesome, but nobody is that stupid. Millsap/Jefferson are considered excellent players. Borderline all-stars even. And we'd be giving up a promising young prospect. We gave up DWill for less than you're suggesting.

It's all dependent on how much you like the potential of Burks, and how much you like the prospects in the 2012 draft. Personally, I see All-Star potential in Burks, and the 2012 draft is loaded with talent, imo. With the potential Burks has, as well as the kind of player we could get with the GS pick, combined with an already proven Millsap, part of me doesn't want to give all that up for Rondo. I think that's when you know it's an even trade--when your gut is telling you yes one second, and no the next.

Karl Malone was a huge pain in the ***, but he brought it every night on the court. Rondo is no different, Jazz fans will LOVE him, I think he's exactly what we need.

I think if we offer Harris + Millsap + filler (Tinsley?) for Rondo + JO...I think that Boston would take a hard look at that. We may have to throw in a pick as well. A future lotto protected 1st may be enough to get it done.

ok,than why suggest a trade? we all should be happy with our potential, and upcoming 2012 drafts

I'd try to entice them with picks (this year's 2 first rounders and next year's, if we have one) + Harris and CJ. They get a serviceable (All Star!-my emphasis) pg and, well, CJ, but they get some good potential options with picks since they're going to be passing the torch soon anyway, so to speak.

That's what I'm saying...

Part of me DOESN'T want to do the trade I suggested earlier. That's why I feel it's pretty even, cause I'm not sure if I would do it.

Holy ****, I would!

Several people have expressed that it would be giving up too much, so we'll all have to agree to disagree. If you look at like Paul Millsap + Alec Burks + Quincy Miller...well, that's A LOT of talent we're giving up. It would probably be worth it since we're in need of a PG...but the point is that I don't think the trade is clearly one sided. So if Boston really is shopping Rondo, then this kind of offer is something they might pull the trigger on. They'd be getting THREE pieces to their future. I doubt they'd get a better offer. I like our chances.

OK, does someone have a run-down of the picks we have coming in 2012/13 as it stands now? In addition to our own if we miss the playoffs, what have we got? I can't keep track of it all.

Would LOVE to have Rondo but like others have said, those picks (and our young guys) are important especially for a small-market team who can't usually attract top free agents. I'd be willing to give up Al, Paul, CJ, Harris, Bell but they're most likely going to want picks too.
