What's new

Rondo being shopped hard.

OK, does someone have a run-down of the picks we have coming in 2012/13 as it stands now? In addition to our own if we miss the playoffs, what have we got? I can't keep track of it all.

Would LOVE to have Rondo but like others have said, those picks (and our young guys) are important especially for a small-market team who can't usually attract top free agents. I'd be willing to give up Al, Paul, CJ, Harris, Bell but they're most likely going to want picks too.

We have Golden State's first round pick (top 7 protected in 2012, top 6 protected in 2013 and 2014, I believe).

Minnesota owns our pick, but it's lottery protected in 2012. In other words, if we make the playoffs, we lose our pick.

We might have some 2nd rounders, but I can't remember. I'm pretty sure those are the only first round picks we own, though.

The real question is if Rondo is so valuable and young why is he being shopped? Yes we traded Deron but we didn't think we could resign him. Rondo is locked up.

It doesn't make sense.

Did you read the OP? Serious question.

Thanks. The GS picks could be good but are they good enough? Guess it depends on who's available on the board when. Tough to trade those away.

Who needs Rondo when you have Burks? A Rondo-Burks backcourt couldn't shoot, but damn could they fastbreak, attack the rim, and pass.

IMO, we should trade Millsap and Harris for Rondo and Jermaine O'Neal. To me, this would be an equal trade. The Celtics would get TWO good players (Harris has been playing much better lately) for one really good player and one over-the-hill player in O'Neal who would be sent to make the contracts match (Jermaine's contract is also expiring). The trade of Millsap could possibly be seen as an addition by subtraction because his loss would give more playing time to Mr. Jeremy Evans. Amazing, isn't it? Evans came into the game tonight and PRODUCED and the Jazz BUILT their lead instead of losing it. Whenever Jeremy is in the game good things happen for the Jazz. All that we have had lately with Millsap is losing and bad performances. I love Paul as much as the next guy, but he is the one that needs to go. Unless you consistently play Derrick Favors at Center (with Enes Kanter), trading Al Jefferson is not really an option either. He also makes too much money to realistically be a trade option for teams. They would want us to take back a lot of bad contracts to make things work. Millsap does not have this problem, as his contract is much, much more manageable. Depth Chart:

PG: Rajon Rondo, Earl Watson, Jamaal Tinsley
SG: Gordon Hayward, Alec Burks, Raja Bell
SF: Josh Howard, C.J. Miles, Jeremy Evans
PF: Derrick Favors, Jeremy Evans, Jermaine O'Neal
C: Al Jefferson, Enes Kanter, Jermaine O'Neal

People...Rondo is an all-star and a triple double threat. You aren't going to get him without giving up AT LEAST one of the young 4. They would probably want 2 of them plus Millsap , which of course Kevin O'Connor would never do, because Kevin O'Connor never takes risks.

Please, please, please let this happen. We need you Rondo! You complete us!!

Pretty please!!!!!!

I'm telling ya...we give them Millsap, and let them choose two of these three:

Gordon Hayward
Alec Burks
GS pick

Are they really going to get a better offer than that?

Don't know, but as painful as it is, all day.

That's a good point. I forgot to mention the GS pick in my thread. I would probably see that as too much to give up for one really, really good player, but nobody ever really knows what you are going to get in a draft pick. I would make the Harris-Millsap-GS pick trade for Rondo-O'Neal and possibly one of their future draft picks right now.

We get rid of Jefferson, Harris, Miles (or draft pick or nothing) for Rondo n the jazz would be SICK!@!!

But we`d still need a shooter somewhere.

Rondo, Shooter, Hayward, Millsap, Favors/Kanter rotation

This is the dumbest thread ever. Ya lets turn around and give back what we got for Dwill. No way we trade any of the young guys for rondo. Not even just Hayward. Or just kanter. Or whatever. We already made our decision that we are rebuilding. It would be like trading Dwill for Rondo. No way would i make that trade. We never should have traded him away in the first place.

Rondo doesnt fit unless we do trade the young guys and pair him up with the older guys. It doesnt make sense to pair him up with the young guys. They are just in different places in there careers. So unless boston is willing to trade him for peanuts, then no way we should make a move for him. If dumb *** KOC turned around and gave some young guys for him i would be so flipping mad.

And i am the crazy one with my crazy ideas. Its not happening clowns. Give it up

Hey, while we're at it, let's do this:

Burks, Favors, Milsap, + GS Pick
for
Rondo and O Neal

Boston does this because the Jazzfanz thread is desperate.
Jazz do it because Rondo is a triple double headache machine.

How would we be giving up what we got in the Dwill trade? We got Favors and Kanter for him, and no one is talking about trading them. People, myself included, are talking about trading either Jefferson or Millsap, along with some combination of Burks, Hayward, and the GS pick. Only one of those five came in the Williams trade, so WTF are you talking about?

Also, Rondo has 4 years on his contract, and is still pretty young. In other words, he DOES fit in with this rebuilding project since he will be under contract for a long time, then we can offer him an extension, and he will still be in his prime by the time Favors and Kanter start blossoming. Not only that, but with his passing, leadership, and attitude, he would greatly quicken the development of the young guys, making this rebuild period much shorter, and putting us in contention sooner than we had hoped.

How did you even get 1 rep power?
