Ronnie Brewer to Bulls

Come on man, we all know your opinion on Brewer, but this is overstating things. You're better than this.

Greg is a very knowledgeable poster. Smart on basketball. But Ronnie Brewer makes him irrational. Like he's the worst combination of total evil and total incompetence--Jason with Down's Syndrome, Alien who spooks easily, Dracula squeamish at the sight of blood. For Greg: The war is over. Brewer is gone. He will not be playing for the Jazz next year. Just to clarify: He will NOT be playing for the Jazz next year. He also won't be paying out of his own pocket to play in the NBA next year. He will actually get paid. And there's a reason for that.

I wonder if part of receiving the trade exception from Chicago included us to not being allowed sign Brewer back? Meh.

No one should be scared of the Chicago Bullz... Boozer will miss half the season.. and even when he does play he won't be nearly as effective without D-Will giving him good looks... Derrick Rose is NOT a playmaker.

I do hate the way Brewer plays. I should be able to let it go now. :)

I don't think there is a player for this team I hated watching more than Brewer. And that includes, Keefe, Tag, Harpring, and Boozer.

I am excited to watch the team play the Bulls. Is there any reason for our defenders to leave the key against that starting lineup?

Good point. I'll just be happy that he's not on my team anymore.

I have been wondering. Did you ever change your mind on Boozer? That's the one subject you and I definitely disagreed on before.

Thank you for the compliment.

I do try not to let my emotions get the better of me when evaluating players on this team. But for some reason Brewer and most of the fans he had that fell in love with him because he could make spectacular dunks and get a few steals drove me over the edge with him. I still think he is possibly the most overrated player by the fans this team has had since Bryon Russell. I never understood the love affair some had fans had with either of these 2 players. At least Russell could shoot some.

Sad to lose good guys in Korver and Brewer, but I always thought it was better to have a player that is an average to above average shooter and defender (Bell/Matthews) than have a specialty player that is only great at one thing (Korver/Brewer). Especially as a starter.

Side note, my dad lives in Chicago and is a huge Bulls fan - it will be fun to hear his take on the players as the season goes on. Right now he is pretty psyched about the pick-ups. Especially Booooooozer.

To avoid illegal defense? I still don't get the hate for him, sure you can say he wasn't a good shooter and I could even understand an argument saying his defense was average despite his high steal avg due to only playing the passing lanes. But Hate, he was a good dude and should've been used as AK's back up not a starting SG.

They gave Korver 15, so that contract is about right. Just because he's not a good shooter, let's not underrate his overall skills. An adequate man-to-man defender who's among the best in the league at playing the passing lanes. Excellent around the rim and a good finisher. Some people on this site are real dorks.

Not be able to shoot when your position is shooting guard is a severe deficiency. Severe.

As Jerry used to say, anyone can be a shooting guard, what Utah needs is a "Making" guard.

After the Matthews offer came in, KOC said they were prepared to go out with the same offer to 3-4 different players and sign the one who accepted. Sounds like they weren't that high on any player in particular, KOC just wanted some veteran depth. But I think Bell falling in their laps was unexpected. Raja has a definite shot at starting. With Brewer, Bell, etc., I think the plan would have been to start CJ at SG and AK at SF. Brewer got more money and more years than Utah wanted to offer. I'm liking the Raja signing more and more, especially after hearing his interview. Of couirse, knowing he was on his way to have dinner w/Kobe and then cancelled pleases me to no end as well (and you could tell KOC enjoyed that part too in his interview).
