Roster shake up

As most of you know we need a 2 guard. Even if Bell plays like he did last night we could still use a 2 guard and bring Bell and CJ off the bench. It would just help the bench that much more.

I say trade AK and Hayward and try and get a legit 2 guard. Someone like a caliber of Caron Butler. Anyone got any ideas? Maybe throw in Tomic if needed

We need Jimmy Chitwood. That is who we need. Do it now KOC!

dont worry our 2 guard will be back soon. just had a temporary setback by spraining his ankle yesterday.(memo)

it will help our rebounding too. because when memo is on the floor he drives a big man down the paint wich makes it easier for jazz to rebound

I don't think I'd characterize Butler as a legit 2 guard since he's a 3. And he isn't better than AK as a 2 or a 3. But I would call him a moderately acceptable substitute for AK if the Jazz absolutely had to get the financial savings in a swap. Getting a better player than AK, with his contract, is going to be very difficult.

Lets see
Toughness >Butler
Shooting >Butler
Man to man D >Butler
Weak side >AK (Hasn't provided much of that weak side D this year)
Passing >AK
Creating own shot >Butler
Scoring >Butler
Consistency >Butler
Rebounding Pretty even, edge goes to AK on some nights

So how is Caron better? Sloan would love a tough guy like Caron but the Mavs aren't giving him up anyway

I feel like I've been seeing some version of the "we need to trade for a 2 guard" thread every month since Hornacek retired.

Have to agree with this. But it is the truth. We have been needing a 2 guard every month since Hornacek retired.

Needed a "2 guard" ever since Shandon Anderson left. Hornacek was terrible defensively his last two years.

John Starks didn't count? :p

Kyle Weaver's DLeague stats this year: 19.2ppg .497 FG .529 3 .836 FT 6.3 rebounds 3.6 assists. Plus he has a couple of years in OKC and 6'6". He's a Ryan Thompson with talent.

I don't see The Magic giving up Reddick, so my next choice is Courtney Lee, a SG now with the Rockets. If Memo gets back in form and the Jazz think Fes can handle more minutes and be effective, they might be willing to part with Elson. Elson and Price for Lee and PG Ishmael Smith from Wake would work. With the way Watson is playing, I don't think we have to have Price as a PG...
PG Williams, Watson, Smith
SG Bell, Lee, Haywrd
SF Kirilenko, Miles
PF Millsap, Jefferson, Kirilenko
C Jefferson, Okur, Fesenko

Kyle Weaver is not the answer, but I really like him and don't see harm in signing him to a non-guaranteed deal.

I have no reason to really say this but I wouldn't trust Butler in a big spot. For whatever reason, I do trust AK in some big spots.

Well here are the players that are available for the wing through rumor or possible the right trade

Iggy - my number one choice
Wallace - Great defender cant shoot
Jackson - Seems to have kept his nose clean can do a little bit of everything
Reddick (would take the right offer but Orlando might bite)
Hamilton (only if he is released and then we sign him 8-))
Courtney Lee Hasnt doen anything to date so wouldnt help this year
Bill Walker - hasnt done much
Jason Kapono - not playing in philly
Anthony Parker - would be a nice fit in utah
Corey Maggette - black hole not good nubmer
jamal Crawford - not sure how he would fit
Josh Howard - if he comes back to decent shape would be a good player off the bench
OJ Mayo - but he is not on the block (they say)
Predrag Stojakovic - if he is released might be worth the min
Martell webster - Not sure minny would give him up but who knows
Corey Brewer - Could be the odd man out but he cant shoot
Wayne Ellington - I think he would do well in utah

Not agreat list but some players that could step into rolls and a few that could be impact players.
