Round 1 Game 2 Utah Jazz at L.A. Clippers 8:30pm MDT

A lot of the night we just let them dunk though. We didn't commit the preventative foul.

I don't know if it's luck... they couldn't shake completely free. I was encouraged by the game tonight. Team had every opportunity to lay down. One more shot goes in here or there and it turns the tide.

Yes, but my point is if the series continues and they continue their aggressiveness putting pressure on the rim, one would think they will eventually start getting more FT's as the series goes on. Or at least the potential is there since they arent relying on jumpers.

I know the jazz are making an effort to guard the 3pt line, but I also feel they are fortunate with Crawford in particular. He is clanking shots I expect him to make.

Quin's post game remarks seemed to indicate the Jazz need to get used to playing without Rudy. I'm not sure what to make of it.

I think it means we have to be just a bit more careful at running players off the 3pt line. I usually am all for players doing whatever they can on this team to run the opposition off the 3pt line, knowing we have excellence protecting the rim. Now that's not the case and I still want them to make an effort to get out to the 3pt line hopefully preventing a shot, but the guys need to still stay disciplined and try to stay in front of their man if they force them to not take the 3.

Crawford is **** in the playoffs. Has been his entire career. I'm flabbergasted when he makes anything.

Man, there were periods during the 1st and 3rd quarter when it felt like we were jumping at everything. Really compromised our defense.

They played well. Shot 52%... low turnovers. All their big players had good games. It wasn't like they played bad... sure they could play better.

I think we did great. They made a few timely shots... we did not. Without Gobert we are not a better team than them so we have to make those shots... honestly I think we need to get 1 of our 2 home games to give Rudy time to get back. I think he plays in games 5-7.

Agreed, I feel the same way. At this point I'm just rooting that we can keep the series at 2-2 after our home games, I have very little confidence we can win both of them without Rudy.

Joe Johnson in the post game: We cant ease up because we are playing at home, they are going to play with more urgency.

Rodney Hood Post Game: Quin was complimentary of our effort. and I thought they were reviewing in for a flagrant or a clear path foul, I mean I jumped straight up and ended up on my back, but it is what it is.

Hayward: It was a frustrating game for us, we didn't play our best basketball. We will be excited to play in front of our home fans.

I shot the ball well from three, but not great from twos. They do a good job coralling our ball handlers into their bigs.

Ehh, I think we have to win these next two at home. Cant lose homecourt advantage, especially if we dont have Rudy.

Their bad game floor is certainly higher than our bad game floor. They also made jumpers late griffin three and CP3 hit one.

We will adjust and I don't expect a replay of that paint performance. Part of it was us being aggressive on the perimeter... hence their low shooting percentage... did they miss a lot of open threes? We contested almost all of them... ended up giving up layups to JJ and Paul pierce. We can absolutely adjust... they may make more shots though.

I think their game was prettier... lots of dunks and stuff but not dominant.

That was a bull **** call. That has to be a flagrant by today's standards. I have no idea how you can say a two handed shove is a play on the ball and that it isn't excessive contact. Any time you hit a guy in the air hard there is a chance he lands awkwardly and gets hurt... that was bull ****.

I just dont know how stop them in the paint without Rudy. I dont know how we control the glass without Rudy. Withey/Diaw/Johnson have all been pretty trash rebounders and Favors is a pretty average rebounder atm.

The rebounding is the bigger issue. I think we could pack the paint better and let griffin and Luc shoot more jumpers... give one or both the Ronnie brewer treatment.

I would like Boris a whole lot more if he was a better rebounder. Thought he played good defense except for the rebounding issue.

The good news is we are not Boston who looks awful. That isn't looking like the awesome FA destination for Hayward that all the Massholes think it is.

#1. Having Bogut right now would have been nice.Thought it was a mistake to pass on that opportunity and I'm even more certain about it. Hopefully Rudy can go so that Withey can find his spot on the bench again.

#2. Starting with the same lineup was a mistake. Jazz started slow last game, down 7-1 before they started clawing their way back and down 12-3 early in this one - from which they never Ed recovered. Should have started Withey, Johnson, Hayward, Ingles and Hill. Then brought Favors, Diaw and Hood off the bench.

#3. Bolomboy should have played. Favors and Withey were trash tonight and JJ/Boris at the 4 will never win the rebound battle. They were playing with house money and needed some rebounding and energy. Bolomboy would have brought that in spades.

#4. When somebody hits them, I wish they'd hit back. Rudy and Jingles talk **** all night and back it up. Jazz need some more swagger out there when things get rough. Something to rally behind.

#5. Griffin, Jordan and Paul won this game. They combined for 63 points, 22 rebounds and 14 assists. I know that we're trying to keep JJ Redick from getting going, but the goal should be to shut down Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. Make Jordan and Mbah a Moute beat you.
