We have two pro teams in this valley. One is "reloading" and hoping to make some noise post-lockout, and the other is dominating its own league. I love both of these teams like my own near-children. This thread is for Real Salt Lake.


Last night, RSL took on Columbus Crew in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinals. The first leg ended in a 0-0 tie in Columbus, so if RSL won this game, they would move ahead to the semifinals to face Olimpia or Saprissa (Honduran and Costa Rican teams, respectively). But RSL did not the match last night. They ****ing PEOWNED Columbus like your grandma's first time trying to send an email with Compuserve.

The last goal by Andy Williams was superb, scoring off a free kick from 30 yards. It was the last play of the game, too. I am hoarse, a little flu-ish, but that victory was well worth it.

I even picked up some gold RSL shorts to ball in:

If someone wants to crop out Robbie Findley, that's cool. He has been replaced.




GREAT GAME! Who else went? 15,000 in below-freezing weather, all singing and celebrating another good one!
 
It is worth mentioning that RSL is the first MLS team to advance this far in the CONCACAF Champions League tournament. Meanwhile those schmucks from Georgia got sent home with a lonely goal and the carcass of their team's pride.
 
I think the RSL threads are the only ones I have ever taken seriously on this board.
 
Which is not to say that tomfoolery and poop pics are not welcome.
 
RSL > Jazz at this point. Much more fun to watch at least.
 
The Jazz are definitely in that nascent, re-building mode. Which is fun to watch for the development aspect, not if you're focused on seeing us win a championship.


RSL, on the other hand, has its cleats on the nuts of the rest of the league...
 
I wish that I liked soccer considering Utah has its own professional team now.. but I just can't. Good to know the team is doing good, though.
 
Yeah that was a dominating way to start the season. Great job this week at RioT boys! 4-1 beat down got me feeling all frisky in my britches.

Max Bretos has obviously not gotten the EPSN memo. You do not pick a team from Utah to win anything, under any circumstances. You can almost see whats going through his head when he picks RSL over some team like LA. His body goes all rigid and his eyes glaze over knowing what the execs will do to him afterward...or that was him ******* to the idea of RSL winning. Either way Bretos ftw.
