Memphis is looking to shed some of their big contracts and Rudy gay is rumored to be on the block

Jazz trades Jefferson/Burks to Memphis for Rudy Gay

other than shed salary... It will allow memphis to re-sign mayo since they know they wont have to pay gay money. They would be able to bring Jefferson off the bench to play both PF and C behind Randolph and Gasol. Their front court could almost average 60 points a game. Instead of burks, jazz could send them hayward since he is more of a SF. That would allow burks to start at SG for the jazz

I don't think that Gay's contract is quite as bad as Joe Johnson's, but I don't really want him on that kind of a deal. He is going to eat up a HUGE amount of our cap space and honestly, he just isn't that good. Nice player, but on a contract like that you need to be putting up MVP candidate numbers.
