Thought I’d put this here. Rudy would’ve fit in well in the 90’s. No one outside of France or the jazz seem to like Gobert. Lol. Embiid doesn’t think Gobert should’ve made all nba over him

Man this thread.... can't say I was shocked but also can't say I still wasn't disappointed.
I just wanted to add my 2 cents and basically re-commenting on what some others already said, when you know this thread was about Rudy and his extension.
IMO Rudy got his "fair" market value, which is different than his subjective "true" value, which those two RARELY line up. I say subjective because, yes his skill set is limited by his lack of one on one offensive skills but is greatly boosted by his team value in how the Jazz and any smart team would use him to maximize his effectiveness and contributions to the team.
Embid's comments reflect that a bit. Yes Embid SHOULD be better than Rudy, he is more naturally gifted offensively and physically has very similar if not more natural abilities on the defensive end. Gobert more than makes up that difference with his mental make up and approach to the game, like Yogi Berra said (even if he said "baseball") the game is 90% mental 10% physical.
It's hard to quantify that mental side but to me those who posted the Twitter links, showing Gobert's +/- when he's on and off the court and then even more recently with Mitchel, to me says and illustrates better than I could put to words.
If physical talent is all it took then DeAndre Jordan, Andre Drummond and heck Javelle McGee all "Should" be better than Gobert and to casual or ignorant fans they are and Rudy is overpaid. Fine by me it will make JazzAvenues post game threads all the better to read as Rudy reaps their souls.

Also did you see during the pregame show that Ingles and Mitchell walked in together. That means he's team Mitchell and hates Gobert and prolly means he is going to NYC with Mitchell.
Also during the game Gobert was the first one over to help Mitchell up when he got knocked down. So clearly that means Gobert is team Mitchel and he hates... himself... and will also be going to NYC but to BKN and not the NYK. I won't even get into what it means when Mitchell helped Gobert up or after throwing him that pass that led to the and one, I mean cause it's clear and should go without saying...
