What's new

Rumor I heard about DWill

on a side note i hear that the jazz are now trying to aquire Dwight Howard.

All kidding aside, the Jazz probably do have enough assets to trade for Howard and sign Deron this Summer. Of course, we'd have to sign Deron first before D.Howard would sign off on it.

Personally, I don't mind either way. As long as whoever is here plays hard, team basketball and wants to win. Whining and blaming others is not team basketball. Yes, making demands is a form a whining. ;) lol

From Jody Genessy's Twitter:

D-Will knows he gets blamed for Sloan's resignation, but he still says Jazz have best fans in the NBA

Can Deron Williams ever see himself playing in Utah again? "No."

D-Will seemed happy that the Jazz are playing better after a rough start. He can't help but follow his old team

Been out of it today, so if this has been posted already, sorry. Deal with it.

Rumor has it, DWill has a crush on PKM's wife. Like the majority of posters on here. Good for you PKM!

Shooting from the hip again:

Per ESPN, the new CBA allows for a max of 30% of the cap for players with 7-9 years.

I think only teams that have Bird Rights can offer 30%. I think it's substantially lower for any other team.

I don't know next year's cap, but assuming it's $60.3mm (4% raise over this season)

I don't think the cap will be higher than it is for this season and the next for quite some time. With a 6%-8% shift in BRI to owners, the cap and tax should drop somewhat proportionally in 2013. I seem to remember that the cap and tax will be frozen for this season and the next but that calculating new contracts, the new BRI split is already in effect (less money for free agents).

They would be pushing the line after amnestying Harris (8.5mm), renouncing rights to all FA's, and giving up the TPE.
I think $18 million is a very high number to start with when calculating what Deron would get on a non-Bird Rights team. But if it's possible to still get him just doing those things and still being able to keep Jefferson, then yes, that is doable as ****.

I'll always love D-Will, no matter where he plays. He's a good guy, better player.

I would love to see what DWill and the current team could accomplish together. Again DWill before last year attitude wise.

Deron is not gonna return again, he is not getting paid less than 18 per year, who wants to spend 1/3 of salary cap for a pg i really wonder? While we have players like Burks, Favors , Hayward, Kanter each of whom will get paid close to 10 in the next few years, is it hard to realize we cant afford a superstar?

Or what people want is to scatter the current young core and bring back Deron? We kind of trying to settle the chemistry now, and its pretty clear Harris and Big Al wont be in the long term plans, so the more logical thing to do is finding younger and better team players than these two with half of their salaries. Bringing back Deron will certainly mess up the chemistry again. He is gone, and Utah is the last place he is gonna return back. Lets get over him please

I don't know the percentages, but what I have heard (they talked about it a ton when CP3 was traded - and I'd assume it applies to Deron now as well), is that if he stayed in NJ he could sign for $100MM - anywhere else it would be $75MM. Not sure what the structures are of those contracts either.

We could also save some money by trading Harris for a smaller contract or an expiring contract for the next year allowing us some cash for resigning our young guys!

I would be completely stunned if he came back. Having said that, this team with DWill at the point instead of Harris? Holy hell that's nice. Not only that but HeavinHarris would need to get a name change..

Maybe WonderfulWilliams?

Dwill says his chapter in Utah is finished, and probably no return. I would like to see him in Jazz roster again, if he is sincere and right about not pushing coach Sloan out. Jury is still out on this one IMO. Lots of dilemma.
