Butler sign-and-trade for Favors. Chicago certainly ain't letting him walk.
Can't do a sign and trade tonight though.

Correct. Trades don't have to be tonight. IDK.
Yeah, just responding to the rumor that they may trade Favors tonight. Doesn't make sense.
Millsap is a much better player than Favors
Favors is severely overrated

You mean sports journalism in the 21st century? Why read it? Why care?
I don't read it, other than when garbage claims end up on this board. I care because I don't want Favors' name getting mentioned in trade talks every ****ing year. He deserves better than that.
Utah Jazz not shopping Derrick Favors as Paul Millsap's free agency looms

In seven seasons in Utah, Paul Millsap won over Jazz fans with hustle and hard work. And after two All-Star seasons in Atlanta, it’s Millsap’s evolving and increasingly skilled game that makes him such an intriguing free agent name — especially for those fans in Salt Lake City.
Millsap averaged 17.3 points per game and shot better than 35 percent from 3-point territory. That offensive production could make for a tantalizing pair with Jazz center Rudy Gobert, if he were to plug in to the system Quin Snyder, Millsap’s former assistant in Atlanta, is installing in Utah.
It’s fair to expect the Jazz to gauge Millsap’s interest in a Utah homecoming once free agency opens up July 1, as a few have reported. But don’t make too much of reports that the Jazz could be looking to move forward Derrick Favors to make room for a Millsap return. According to a source, the Jazz are not shopping Favors.
Obviously, everything is in flux when it comes to this time of year in the NBA. Phones ring. Things change.
But this position on Favors certainly fits with some comments general manager Dennis Lindsey made this week, as he spoke with reporters in the lead up to tonight’s NBA draft.
Asked about the evolving nature of the forward position in the league, Lindsey turned the question into a chance to praise Favors’ contributions.
"We’ve had the good fortune to collect a lot of good young players … and they’re big for their positions," Lindsey said. "We feel as though we want to capitalize on our size. I think we saw the last 30 games what that can mean relative to our team. There’s no reason for us to run from that. In many ways, Derrick bails us out of that option. If Derrick was not as mobile or if he wasn’t as good with a game plan or lacked instills, covering fours (power forwards) would be much more difficult. Derrick and his intelligence and mobility, coupled with his size, allows us to be unique. I would imagine we continue down that path …"
Indeed, Favors and Gobert were impressive in the season’s second act, and the numbers show, as the Jazz believe, the two big men can produce positive results while playing together.
According to NBA.com’s statistics, Gobert and Favors had a net rating of 7.6 in 521 minutes together after the all-star break, when the Jazz went 19-10 to close out the season. Their defensive rating (92.5 points allowed per 100 possessions) was the fourth best in the NBA in that time. In fact, Favors is involved in two of the three better two-man pairings, while teaming with Dante Exum and Gordon Hayward.
Keep in mind also, Millsap’s bargain contract is coming off the books in Atlanta and the the 30-year-old veteran forward rightfully should be seeking a better payday than his last one, possibly even approaching a max deal (about 30 percent of the salary cap, given Millsap’s years of service). The Hawks were the East’s best team during the regular season and could provide Millsap a better chance at continued contention. Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Favors, coming off a year in which he averaged 16 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, has a team-friendly deal that will pay him an average of $11.6 million over the next three seasons.

Favors at 10-12 M is>>>>>>>than Butler and Millsap at 35-40 M.Who said anything about small-ball? Favors > Butler + Millsap?
Not even close. Favors surpassed Millsap 3 years ago and is still improving.Millsap is a much better player than Favors
Favors is severely overrated
Favors is a much much better player than Milsap
Milsap is severely overrated and disappears in playoffs
If Porzingas flops and Millsap goes back to Atlanta then you have just flat out ****ed up your franchise for 10 years. You make this trade and you potentially piss off Hayward and Gobert. You are rebuilding all over again. Congratulations you are the Clippers of the 80's and 90's. You downgrade PF, you get a bust pick, and you lose the other 2 players who really matter on this team. Not in any way worth that risk. This seems pretty smart to me depending on exactly what the Jazz can get for Favors. If it is indeed something like Favors, Burke, #12 for Calderon and #4 it is IMO a solid thought process if they are targeting Porzingis(if they view him as a Dirk level player) and have a strong indication they can sign Millsap. Millsap IMO is a better fit for Gobert and if Porzingis turns out to be Nowitzki reincarnated not only are the Jazz in position to compete for the playoffs this year, but great shape to be title contenders in years to come. Plus the Jazz gets a veteran(foreign) PG to help Exum grow.
