RUMOR: Joe Ingles to be offered 4 years at $60M by Orlando

60M 4 years - if I decide for Jazz easy match.
Esp if GH is undecided.
Jazz better be prepared with GH leaving and having Ingles back is one way to do this.

IF GH says "match the offer for my buddy, Joe, and I'll re-sign," Jazz will do it in a heartbeat. But let's see if Orlando really does offer $15M/per.

Haha, I was belittled and called crazy when I voiced a prognosis that someone would offer Ingles a contract in the 60-65/4 years range.
I'm already feeling kind of vindicated

So we are going to overpay for an average player who scores 7pts a game so we don't offend his buddy. That is not a way to run your franchise. I think people are overvaluing Ingles because he is funny and a nice guy. You don't pay 15 million a year to a role player. I was expecting a contract around 10 million or less years more money. Say 3 years 13 million. So are the Jazz going to pay Hood twice as much since he is scoring 14 pts a game? I am some what joking.

DL has to manage the whole financial roster so hopefully he doesn't match that offer if it is actually being offered.

I don't see Hayward doing that because if he did the franchise might realize that Hayward is becoming a diva and trade his butt. Again this isn't high school, be smart is more important and the Jazz need to realize this would not be idea for future negotiations with players.

$15 mil per year is pretty standard market value for a 3 and D guy such as Joe Ingles.

I think he might be the most important player in us making the next step. He can be way better than he was last year.

There are two types of people in this world.

Person A: Those who would extend Hood over Exum.
Person B: Those who would extend Exum over Hood

Don't forget 2.7 assists and a 2.05:1 A/TO ratio. Ingles numbers are more than what they indicate. His marksmanship means that the floor is more open which in turn allows a higher % at the rim for both Rudy and Gordon. He's too smart to run off the line even though his release is slow. When someone overcommits he'll just beat him with a straight line drive or draw help and read the floor. On kick out passes, when the defender is close enough he'll keep the ball moving. More valuable than his raw numbers and the fact that he obliterated Redick in the first round putts him over the top.

Really, list me some players who score 7 pts a game and make $15m a year. Joe defense is good but it isn't enough to warrant paying him that much for 4 years.

Why not? it's a trade chip.
Maybe. 24 minutes per game and 7 points per game at his peak in a contract year on a 15 million per year...... I sure hope he can keep shooting 44% from three. I wouldn't count on it though.

Here's an interesting hypothetical - imagine Ingles gets 4/60 offer. Would you rather pay Hill the same money to play SG for us?

On ESPN2 Woj just said he thinks Ingles will get a 10,11 or 12 mil a year contract offer from teams.

Good question. I think due to hills age and toe I say no.

Even if it's 15 we match... sucks to overpay by a few million but how do you replace a legend?
