RUMOR: Joe Ingles to be offered 4 years at $60M by Orlando

lol. I imagined the scenario. Ingles laughs at Rivers, tells him to go kiss a wallaby and walks out.

Or bring an iPad of him shutting JJ reddick out in the playoffs and make him watch it while he stares at Doc intently... every time he looks away he screams look at it!

Rivers would pass out and wake up at home in bed, his Tempur-Pedic replaced with a Purple Mattress because Ingles is a gent like that.

So, has anybody mentioned that JJ Redick got a 1 year deal for 23 million?

Shooters are worth money in this league. And Joe can play defense too.

MLE? Psssh

One year deal though... Ingles will be closer to MLE than 23M. I think they paid him twice what he'd get on multi year deal.

I think Ingles comes in at 4/50... patty mills money.

I think his deal is rather unique. They can use him to help get better this year and have cap space to bring him in (they they may otherwise not use) but don't have to be locked in to a large contract. Good move for both parties.

I guess some people here missed the fact that Utah just traded for Ricky Rubio.

The Key to Rubio is you have to have to put shooters around him. Jingles is one of the best shooters out there. 15 Million is probably an overpay, but not by much. 4 years isn't ideal, but this is not the time to let shooters go because they are a little overpaid.

Yes, one year, but for 8 million more than what some people think is ridiculous for Joe. Same Joe who beat JJ up and took his lunch money.

I think that's about what the Jazz will end up paying(4/50), because I don't think Jingles will sign somebody else's offer sheet.

However, for the people here laughing and saying no way anybody offer's him that much, it would be pointless to make an UFA an offer that's a no brainer to match. It has to be a risk of an overpay to get the original team to pass.

If somebody offers 15 million and he signs it, Jazz will match. Can't let him go, now that we have Ricky.

JJ has a track record of being a good shooter for many many years though.

I'm guessing he has had seasons where he averaged more than 24 minutes and 7 ppg.

I don't think they will need to pay him 15 million.

Looks like over the last 4 years reddick has averaged 15, 16, 16, and 15 points per game. Right around 29 minutes per game.

I think he might be the most important player in us making the next step. He can be way better than he was last year.

Maybe. But one should ask: How does he help us compete with Golden State? His disappearing act against the Warriors was very disappointing.

I love Ingles, but his performance in that series makes paying him $15 million/year very questionable if our goal is to "take the next step." I think this will be a tough decision for DL.

Edit: Woops, my reading comprehension is pretty dull today. Bawse was referring to Hood, not Ingles.

There are two types of people in this world.

Person A: Those who would extend Hood over Exum.
Person B: Those who would extend Exum over Hood

Person B needs their head examined.

Neither A nor B is right.

You want to extend both to keep them from going to FA, where another team could throw stupid money at them to try and pry them away.

If you aren't planning of extending one, you should be talking of trading them. Hood is a bigger threat to get stupid money if he doesn't extend. His situation concerns me more than Dante's, and Dante doesn't have much trade value, so I think Hood is the one more likely to be traded.

How's his defense? Anyway, some people might value JJ more than Jingles. Those people probably didn't watch Joe outplay him on both sides of the floor in the playoffs, though.

From what I understand Reddick's defense is quite good. I don't watch a lot of clippers games though.
Neither of them are on the all defense team.

I was simply saying that sometimes it's valuable to have multiple good years to go off.

So we are going to overpay for an average player who scores 7pts a game so we don't offend his buddy. That is not a way to run your franchise. I think people are overvaluing Ingles because he is funny and a nice guy. You don't pay 15 million a year to a role player.

I agree 100%!
