I feel like there is a group of nations, led by Russia, who are actively planning to remove the U.S. from it's role as sole superpower in the world. Not that they want to destroy us because they hate freedom or any ******** like that, but because they want a world where their interests are not at the mercy of a nation with our track record. Really, they'd just like to control their own destiny and make their own decisions without having to worry if the U.S. will approve or not.
On paper the U.S. dominates the world economically and militarily. As you mention, our cyber capabilities are most likely the best as well. But I see how we can be taken by surprise and end up on (metaphorically) a battle field not of our choosing, where our placement and the timing are to our overwhelming disadvantage. Russia, China, India and Brazil are patient. They can wait for their moment and cripple us when we are exposed and vulnerable. Our arrogance is our achilles heal.
