So my wife got a big promotion and I just got a new job (no extra money for me, but a M-F 9-5 which I have pretty much never had in my life) so we are going out to celebrate!

I know Ruth's Chris and a few of the top-end steakhouses, but a $300 dinner isn't in the budget tonight.

Anyone have a recommendation for a more middle of the road Steakhouse?

Better than Sizzler, less expensive than Ruth's Chris.

I went to that place right by the stadium when I was out there. It’s a high end chain. Excellent. Not quite as good as a Del Friscos but excellent and the best Brussels sprouts I’ve ever had.

Forget the name of it. Think it begins with a F.

Rib and chop House is decent. It's pretty good food and a reasonable price. I would also put Ruby River in that same category.

I hear people like New Yorker. I haven't tried it but it looks good. The price is kind of in between the ones above and the higher end ones.

Honestly with a cheap steak you will be lucky to find a place that doesn't cook everything medium well. Can't ask for much more than it being cooked to your order
Texas Roadhouse(probably the most affordable), RedRock downtown, and Wasatch usually do
Longhorn is ****
Outback is ****

Rib and Chop House looks pretty good, prices right where I was looking. I will probably try them soon but we switched things up for tonight. Now we're going to Texas De Brazil, a Rodizio/Tucanos type place.

Ruby river for the win. It’s the bomb diggity and they have the best jalapeño poppers on the planet earth. Make sure to get them.

Your new job still at dannon but on day shift?

No. My last day was on Friday. I'm going somewhere else. Dannon was really great for me and I learned a hell of a lot there.

I don't want to publicly post the name of the place I'm going but it's a robotics company that is doing really exciting things. They are expanding rapidly right now and will double or triple their employee count over the next year or two. They offer stock options which could end up being a really great thing for me. I start Monday.

Congrats man. Go to ruby river lol

Tiburon in Sandy/Midvale. Saw Jerry Sloan there once. Last time we went, a couple months back, I got a steak with a lobster tail on it.

Congrats! Do yourself a favor and go to the Timbermine in Ogden.
