What's new

Salt Tank City

Next year is a throw away year. Good development for Kanter, Favors, and Burks, plus the obvious display of Trey Burke. Other than that do not expect many positives until lottery night. Good to see though. This is a players league, and great players do not come to utah in free agency. A player like Wiggins would forever transform Jazz basketball, although I imagine the FO might take Jabari just because there is a better chance he will stay long term. He has family in utah, and fits the culture more for obvious reasons. I don't agree with that, but after so many big time free agents have left the teams that drafted them over the last decade, it would not surprise me.
I don't think Utah will have the worst record in the league. Too many talented players. But even a top-6 pick brings in an all-star caliber prospect.

Well, the 6th worst record gives you a serious shot at landing Jabari or Wiggins in the lottery.

For once we have a long term plan for a great team instead of a short term plan for a mediocre team. Might be painful this year but it's necessary. I for one can't wait to see the young guys get to play for real. In that way it'll be blast.

Yup. Took me a minute to get over the thought that we might be able to steal Barnes or Thompson, but now I'm pretty freaking excited about this trade.

Well if you would have got involved with my thread in the beginning then you would have been prepared for this. I try to prepare everyone on the value of just getting the two firsts and we werent getting Barnes, so it didn't come as a shock.

You have a kind heart.

Holy ****, Dennis Lindsey is a God.

This is greatest offseason we could have imagined. We got our PG, we freed up the young guns to play huge minutes next season, we're poised to have two first-round (maybe two lotto!) picks in the best draft in a decade, and we've freed up the cap room to extend our young core for the foreseeable future.

Realistically, let's say we're in the 6-8 range next year. With the extra GSW pick (I'll peg it 16-18), cap flexibility and our young talent (...I'd give up a Burks or Hayward for Jabari or Wiggins), the top flight talent in next year's draft should be in play.

The only way the Jazz should pass on Wiggins is if they can trade back to #2 and get a haul for Wiggins but still be guaranteed to get Parker. Otherwise you go with Wiggins and don't look back. Either player would be huge to add to the current roster.
