Satanic monument

Are we supposed to pretend that the Capitol building itself isn't a monument to Satan?

That is just dumb. It's not about fairness you twits.

Once you get that Jazz only d-league affiliate in STG squared away let me know. Maybe then we can get you to put up a Dalamon monument within 300 yards of the STG LDS temple.

So we're agreed then that the Satanist monument is ok as long as we can also have a Christina Applegate monument?

You have given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later.

The concept of freedom has its limits.

And this group crosses the line because....

If the Ten Commandments is an acceptable monument to put outside of a courthouse, then so is this, and any other religious monument that does not violate the law in another way.

I love the line "Oklahoma's Judeo-Christian heritage." That heritage is subjugating non-Christians to terrible reserved lands while we "civilized" people lord over the natives.

At this point we really should just not allow any religious monuments on public property unless they are already 50 years old(historic value).

All religions should fall under same category. If Hindus, Muslims, Pagans or Satanists want to build their monuments and it is within the law, good for them.

Now who is this dude to make comments like that?

Republican Rep. Bobby Cleveland, who plans to introduce one such bill next year, said many Christians feel they are under attack as a result of political correctness. He dismissed the notion of Satanists erecting a monument at the Capitol.
"I think these Satanists are a different group," Cleveland said. "You put them under the nut category

Why? To me they are not any more nuts then any other religious group. Some want to worship God, some Satan, some Thunder or Oaks.

I don't know much about satanism. But pushing too hard to have a satanist statue outside a court house is way out of concept no matter how much u dramaticize it .

So lets say Satanists will build their monument of 11 Satanic rules of the Earth. Let see how that compares to 10 commandments.

The Ten Commandments

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain.
4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
5. Honour thy father and thy mother.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
10. Thou shalt not covet.

The Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth

1. Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
2. Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
3. When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.
4. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.
5. Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.
6. Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.
7. Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.
8. Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
9. Do not harm little children.
10. Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.
11. When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.

Seems pretty fair to me.
