Tell some of the scary moments in your life.

When I was living down in Honduras, on my mission, we were walking down a street around 6 PM and passed this local bar. Well a couple of the patrons were outside and saw us. They started following us and shooting insults and what not. Well eventually they got my companion to turn around and that is when the drunks pulled their guns. I found myself staring down the barrel of a revolver for about 5 minutes. My way of expressing fear is thru anger. I wanted to rip this man's arms off and beat him with them. Finally a couple of women passed by and drew the drunks attention and my companion and I were gone.

First time I stared down the barrel of a gun pointed at my face. Man oh man was that a sobering moment.

I watched firemen pull two people out of the Jordan River and do CPR on them; both died.
I pulled a drunk ******* out of a burning RV. (That he set on fire because he was cold)
Was part of a televised debate when I ran for city council.
Had a little run-in with the law that landed me in jail. That by itself was sobering and scary, but it got real when the jail went on emergency lockdown because some guy killed himself. They tried to resuscitate him about two feet from me.
Walked in on my cousin making love to a 1 liter pop bottle. There are some things you just can't un-see.
Lived in a genuine haunted house from age 6 to 18. Not the cute/funny kind either; think Poltergeist.

My scariest moment, however, had to do with my oldest kid, and I'm not about to share it with you bungholio's.

1-
I was carrying something that weighed around 50lbs up a rickety ladder to a roof that was about 20ft up.
Thought I was dead for sure.
Every step I though the ladder would break or slide sideways

2-
I said "Yes, those jeans make you look fat" and then my life flashed before my eyes.
Never been more afraid.

I was half asleep when the sirens went off, it took me a minute to realize what is happening. By the time I got up, four rockets were luckily intercepted high above my town. The explosions were quite massive, as a result of a 30lbs high explosive warheads the rockets carry. It was three days ago.

And you can add to that the moment you realize your grandmother, who is 89 years old, had 15 seconds to reach her shelter, 4 stories down. She didn't, but luckily the rockets fired only hit a nearby field.

Thinking about this question makes me think back that my life hasn't been to terrible in this aspect so far.

My grandparents own a building... 5 stories high. On top of the building are solar panels. He wanted me to scrub clean the tops of those solar panels with some water and a brush because the dust/dirt that it gets over time blocks some sunlight. The roof is angled and has nothing to grab when walking and no wall . I did it once and then told him to hire someone next time.

Kinda makes me feel stupid for posting my lame-*** stories. Where are you from?

I was hiking off path in Zion Nation Park, climbing rocks. Almost game-overed. That's pretty much it. I don't like playing with death.

I will never forget the sinking feeling of despair when my oncologist told me he couldn't find a single case of my kind of cancer where the person survived. I have since found out I am one of about 5% who have survived the kind of cancer I had.

I was on the phone with one of my very best friend since childhood the moment she decided to end her life. That was a very bad day.

1. I died (obviously came back) in a rollover car accident off a cliff several years ago.
2. When I saw my mom's body put in a body bag after a very brief bout with cancer.
3. When I saw my father's dead body with the tubes still hanging out of his mouth and a rude cop not wanting me to see the body at the hospital after a heart attack.
4. When my son fell and cracked open his skull.
5. I had a few instances being outnumbered by groups with knives and sometimes words were not enough for self defense and I had to fight back while growing up in New York.
6. I amputated my thumb in a yard work accident and had to get it reattached (process took 8 hours).
7. As a toddler I had the claw side of a hammer stuck in the back of my head on my grandfather's farm from trying to help chop wood.
8. Two men tried to mug me while I was holding my kid in Tijuana and I fought them off, but the local authorities did not appreciate it and threatened to not let us go back over the border.
9. I had surgery on my foot and was told I should expect bleeding for up to a week, but I was on crutches and had to wrap my foot in overnight maxipads and a pair of Depends wrapped up in gauze for 12 weeks.
10. I had surgery near the groin to repair an injury and got an infection that swelled my junk even bigger than a grapefruit so that I could not sleep on my side for 2 weeks without 3 pillows wedged between my knees.

I think that list is long enough so I'll just stop there.

In Phillipines I steal this briefcase full of books of Mormons from two boys that are harassing me in God stuff. I slap them and go around corners. These guys with bowie knife, they jump out behind thing like dumpster and slash at me with those machetes. I put up briefcase and one guy cuts it in half. Knife stopped one half inches from my package. I did make a little poopy.

End if story, this makes me come to God so missionaries i bitch slap dunk me into river for baptism. That's when I get bit in crotch by poisoned snake so i take this as 2nd message from God.

Grew up in NYC so let's just go with "too numerous to mention" I had 3 or 4 experiences where a gun was involved but ironically the most scared (by far) ever was when a psycho cop pulled out his gun and put it in my friends mouth all because he took a drink of beer from an open container while standing in front of him.

Other than that watching the 2nd plane crash into the WTC from my office window was the most scared I've ever been.

My wedding day.

I've had many .. and a few here know of them (UGLI and Trout), but I can't tell on a public forum .. as lame as that sounds, I know.

You've had many wedding days? Now I know why you chose to move to Southern Utah. That kind of stuff is pretty common 'round these parts.
