Schroeder in the DLeague

It's funny how quickly the tide has turned...

One minute Schroeder was HOT in the SL, and Burke was not.

The next thing you know, Burke is in contention for ROY and Schroeder is sent to the DLeague...

It's almost as if Summer League is meaningless......

Ding, Ding, Ding. . . We have a winner! Summer league ball is barely even the same game that these players will play in the NBA. It would be similar to judging NBA potential by watching a few pick up games at Rucker Park.

The first time I heard of Schroeder is when someone posted a You-Tube video of him dominating a bunch of 6'2" white guys from Europe.

I wanted MCW - and that's just because legit 6'6" playmaking PG's come around about once every 10 years. I had no idea he'd play this well.

Schroeder should be fine. He was raw coming into the draft and probably should have stayed in Germany for a year, but if he's not ready to compete yet he should be at the D-league level to get some actual minutes on the floor. We're seeing first hand how important experience is for young players. In fact, this is exactly why the Jazz should do the same thing with Ian Clark. I'd live to see Schroeder and Clark in that backcourt together.

Schröder's stock sky-rocketed when he had a good showing at the Nike Hoops Summit game of Internationals vs. US players.

You were a MCW fan? Can't remember ever seeing you posting about him in the draft thread.

I never posted in the draft thread. I didn't like Schroder or Larkin. Thought (incorrectly) that Burke was too small. MCW was the only PG that intrigued me. Honestly my first choice was to trade or sign a PG.

btdubs: Schröder is getting blasted like hell in German boards and people are already saying he'll never be an NBA player. Most of them are very sour about him showing off his car, crib, watches and other luxury on instagram :D

I think he just needs time, maybe get his head straight, acclimate and find some balance. I thought he looked good until the DMC grabcident. Somehow he lost his balls...

Playing in Bakersfield will humble him.

Schröder is a long-term project...it makes sense to send him in D-League to make experience rather than keep him on the bench!

I would make the same with Gobert.

It won't happen with Favors and Williams being out. Of course, he seemingly won't get in the game either.
