What's new

seems simple: earl + jamaal

At first glance I thought you said, "I am having difficulty containing my excrement."

@dutch - the fact that he expressed concern over his minutes doesn't mean he didn't deserve them when he got them. ty waited to play earl until he saw in practice, etc., that he was ready to go. that's the precise definition of having to earn your minutes. once earl proved he was able to help the team, he got his minutes back. don't see what the problem is with that.

back to the original idea, a nice alternative was the shortened, big-heavy rotation corbin used in the 2nd half at portland. but that won't always work. tonight, for example, i can't imagine paul chasing the suns around the perimeter. their second unit smalls right now are telfair, redd and childress. might be the perfect opportunity for the jazz to try going small -- although a lot depends on harris' status and if earl is starting.

too bad corbin miscalculated and earl aint helping not one bit.

btw where have you been you are the original thenbanerd right. i always enjoyed your posts

i think earl helps the jazz plenty, just in different ways than JT or harris. i'll concede that earl has been pretty awful at running the O since he got back from injury, but he's still better defensively and still pushes the tempo more than the other two guys. jamaal rarely even runs, period. seriously, watch him -- he mostly just jogs, which is why as soon as he gets beat on D he just commits the foul from behind.

and yes, i'm THAT nerd. lately i kinda post in waves. life has been too busy to be a religious poster like i used to be, so i'll go a while where i post a bit, then a while where i lurk, then a while where i just don't even stop by jazzfanz.

Coincidentally, the point of my post would still come across similarly.

Also makes me think of this certain scene from the Longest Yard, when that one cop ****s himself after he gets hit. Would post the video, but I just got an infection recently.

Looks like either Corbin or one of his assistant coaches read this thread before the Warriors game

Using all 3 PG's together vs the zone was a real good idea. Harris is a MUCH better players when he doesn't have to handle all the PG duties; play more like a SG.
I've advocated mixing up our lineups game to game from before the season began, and coach Ty is finally doin' it. Unfortunately, I suspect he only did this one because of Miles and Millsap being limited with illnesses. And don't forget the Millsap, Favors, Jefferson combo we used to beat Portland. With our depth, we GOT the player combos to get an edge on most any team, if only we'd USE them more often dang it! We can go BIG or small and be more effective against the right teams.

I didn't like the look of Watson off the ball. He just seemed to stand there until somebody looked like they might shoot, then he'd go look for a board.
