Should the Jazz persue DeRozan?

So DeRozan is an UFA this some. He is a star and a primary scorer. Jazz can offer a max and a roster that is taylor made for him.

A point guard that likes to pass
A second but a very good 2nd option. Hayward would thrive with derozen cutting to the basket.
Bigs that can finish at the rim strong and with athleticism.
A bench that should sustain leads.
A good young and upcoming team.
A good young coach.

Sure, why not? Hayward would flourish playing 2nd fiddle to a guy who demands double teams. Could be a difference maker.

I can think of other players I would rather have, but I think this would be a good scenario as well.

What is this move saying to Burks and Hood. Hood goes to the bench while Burks loses his sixth man role and mins. If we are going to disrupt chemistry, we better sure as hell get an actual star.

First off who is the point guard that likes to pass?

Then I think this the type of player the Jazz need to go after. Reason he is a California kid in Canada. Sell him on the fact he is a lot closer to home.

If you want to be a winner you can not

--Dictate moves because someones feelings might get hurt

Also would you even want a player who would be upset.. It improves the team. Look at GSW, You know the champs and the favorites again this year. They play multiple wing players at a time. You could matchup when they go small ball with. You need an alpha male and I Think DD can take the next step to star getting out of Lowrys shadow
Exum
Hayward
DeRozan
Hood
One big guy

Also a bench player is a bench player. 6th man and 7th man on the bench, Usually get close to same minutes FYI

Who is this good young coach? Your coach has 2 seasons of NBA ball under his belt and 2 losing seasons.2 seasons no playoffs

I'm not sure I'd do it but a move like this would be more about what it says to Hayward (& to a lesser extent Favors) rather than Hood or Burks.

I really love this idea. I'm high on him as a player and personally don't feel the Jazz owe Hood/Burks a thing. We just need to get better this offseason.

Having said that, I don't think Demar comes to Utah. My money is on him staying in Toronto, unless they won't pay him for some reason I'm unaware of.

Honestly i dont think derozen would come to utah and I see him signing in la anyway.

Snyder is a good coach he has shown the ability to develop young talent. He has the team poised to make the playoffs next year and beyond. He would have been in the playiffs this year if it wasnt for injuries.

Hayward would completely flourish with derozan getting double teamed. As would favors and gobert.

As for burks i want to see what he can offer this team healthy. Healthy being the key word. Hood is hood and still will be.

I wouldnt be surprised to see hayward getting some minutes at the 4 in a small ball line up.

I had an entertaining thought. Lets say the jazz pull an ainge and make a couple huge moves.

They sign derozen
Trade for cousins (favors and draft picks)

Exum, mack, neto
Derozen, burks
Hayward, hood, ingles
Cousins, lyles
Gobert, withey, maker

That would be a hell of a team. Super fun to watch. Not sure how excited I would be with that team.

Have you watched this guy in the playoffs? I don't consider him a star. I think he is very good but I don't think he is a number one guy. So no I would not MAX him out.

Not really a fan of this. I'd prefer a shooter. I also think he is a little bit redundant to Burks.
