Should the Jazz start Georges Niang?

Why is @Saint Cy of JFC the only one who seems to recognize that this suggestion comes in relation to the Bubble (from 6 months ago), when Bogey was out, we didn't have Favors, and Morgan's existence was virtually unknown?

Niang is slow off the ball and even slower at catch & release. maybe in China or Europe he can showcase his post skills or even dunk on people. But in the NBA he is just a 10min spot shooter who's only good shooting those wide open threes when guys not paying attention to him.

I thought Lowe, Pelton and Locke were smarter than this...

Can he dunk?

The biggest issue with a guy like Niang is that everyone knows he is a terrible athlete, so everyone goes at him. I think his actual defensive ability is better than his reputation, but players just have confidence against him because they know he cant really contest their attempts that well. I remember in the playoffs even Torrey Craig got the confidence to take him 1-on-1 once or twice, which was a positive for the Jazz, it was just funny to see.

Same thing with Tony Bradley.

If I was Niang, I would insist on 20 minutes a day of Kaatsu training. It increases your fast twitch muscles dramatically and speeds up hand eye coordination.

it is going to be a long season if Niang is our starting PF. NO, He plays if other guys are not making shots. If he makes shots than he gets more minutes. Starter.. heck no!!!!
