I can't imagine a championship team with a Power forward / Center that can't play the pick and roll. So trade Al Jeffersuck.

****ing yes they should. He can take is Duncan ***** worship somewhere else.

Yes, even though I shudder to think how we are going to score next year in the half-court if we don't see significant improvement from Kanter, Hayward, Burks, and Favors (specifically Favors). Hopefully whatever piece we get from the Jefferson trade really knows how to score the ball or shoot.

I think we will score by actually running an offense rather then our typical throw it to Al Jefferson and watch him shoot 40% and not get fouled.

Who is going to run that offense? Harris with the help of our amazing floor spacing?

It should be fine in the regular season, when it's easier to fastbreak at a higher rate, but we will face the same problems in the playoffs if we don't improve our shooting and see significant interior offensive play from Favors and Kanter.

In the past I've defended Boozer, Memo, AK, Ronnie Price, Ronnie Brewer, O'Connor, Sloan, CJ Miles for the first half of the 09-10 season...pretty much everyone's favorite whipping boy minus Raja Bell, But if the Jazz don't trade Al Jefferson in the offseason they are putting their entire future in jeopardy because Al Jefferson is the type of player who will gradually erode any type of winning environment the organization is trying to build/sustain (nothing personal or an attack on his character - it's just the characteristics Al brings to the table as a basketball player).

The Jazz were here once before following Karl Malone's rookie season, and they traded Adrian Dantley and Frank Layden challenged Karl on how good of a player he wanted to become. The Jazz don't have an offensive talent like AD nor someone who will become anywhere near the caliber a bigman that Malone was, but I think we know who Al is and who Favors is in this metaphor. Time to choose the young player with the physical gifts who plays hard at both ends and remove the established vet with bad habits who will impede the development and growth of your team.

Harris could run an offense. Some of the problems with AJ is that he kills movement, kills flow, and then kills you on the defensive end. When you are playing with a guy it makes it really hard to make hard cuts knowing the likelihood of him passing out of a double team is slim to none.

Also I expect Favors with minutes to average 15 points per game. Hopefully with no AJ Kanter improves to 10-12 PPG. This would make up for the lost 19 or so that AJ averages. I also expect Hayward/Burks to pick up some slack and hopefully whoever we got in exchange for AJ could help.

Also our Rebounding should improve without Al Jefferson. Right now he averages .28 RPM. Favors is .30 and Kanter is .32. This isn't a big difference but 1 or 2 extra rebounds per game is enough to win you an extra 1-3 games per year. Another factor I think that improves us minus Al Jefferson is that both Kanter and Favor's draw fouls on the guy guarding them. Al Jefferson rarely goes to the line and rarely gets his guy in foul trouble.

Al Jefferson shoots .08 FTPM he plays. Favors shoots .14 FTPM (almost double) Kanter is .12 FTPM (No Rookie Calls Even) So this is just another reason I feel Jefferson kills you at center.

Lack of FT's is for sure his biggest problem. His defense could be overlooked if was able to get 4 more points per game off of FT's.
