Should The Jazz Trades for Harry B?

To answer the question, probably. I can’t speak to much on Harrison Barnes besides that he’s always been kind of a disappointment everywhere he’s been in one way or another.

Conversely, he isn’t in danger of suddenly falling off the cliff of old age and he isn’t as obvious a target for opposing offenses which is a serious problem for Bogey.

I don’t see a scenario where the Jazz are able to pull it off.

It is worth noting that he is essentially having a career year right now. So if this is the year... then seems like the right thing to do. He’s shooting a .624 TS% which is bananas.

We also don’t know how the fit would be. The thing that’s been fueling this team is the unconscious chemistry between everyone. So IDK.

By all accounts he is a class act and loved in the locker room. Bogey is too. I think the chemistry is less the issue and more just that we’d have to add something to get the deal done.

If we move Bogey I think it has to be a fairly clear upgrade or be a lateral move that improves the financial flexibility. Again, I do think a Bogey trade happens this summer if we bring back Mike.

I would definitely consider it but I'm fairly certain that Lindsey and Zanik wouldn't. I will be completely shocked if one of our top nine guys is traded, like absolutely stunned.

On the topic of money... Barnes would raise the Jazz's tax payout by $5 million this year.

It looks like a clear upgrade to me since Bogey has always been empty calories and old (and never athletic to begin with), but at that point you're probably saying bye to any hope of retaining Conley.

On the other hand, this team is about to age out anyway. Barnes would give use another three+ years, assuming he'd stay and we'd want him to.

I have a hard time imagining how we upgrade the roster with Barnes when I calculate what we have to send out. But I don’t watch that **** in Sac so I don’t know Barnes at all anymore.

The only reason to move bogey is for a strong upgrade defensively for the big wings. Or it just has to be an offer too good to be true. Otherwise he has way more value in what he provides on the court.

You should watch them a little to see Haliburton. He's pretty fun.
