If someone wants to start a puppy farm for the intent purpose of eating them, fine with me. My guess is that in this country it would be a horrid business model and I would use my resources to boycott them and try to put them out of business.

If wild puppies existed and someone went to hunt them, fine with me.

And heck, even though I hesitate to say "fine with me" on this following one, if some sick **** wants to adopt a puppy for the sole purpose of eating it, even that doesn't cross the line this guy did. This guy had children who grew up with the pet and decided to eat it. Father of the ****ing Year material right there. This guy did not do this for food. He did it either because he's completely mentally insane, or because his children did something he disapproved of and he wanted to punish them for it by mentally scaring them for life. Either way **** him.

Considering I eat meat every day from other sources, I would say yes to your question. But I am sane enough to not eat my pets. To use a pretty classic example, it's one thing to buy a rabbit to raise as food, another to buy it as a pet and then decide "well **** it, I'm going to kill it now and eat it." The latter suggests a highly unstable mind.

You mean like wolves & coyotes? They actually will pay you reward money to kill coyotes and you have your panties in a bunch of this guy?

Yes. Somewhere in life I learned how to actually differentiate between hunting a wild animal and killing a pet.
 
I'm siding with Nate on this one. Killing and eating his children's pet? demented. As pointed out food is easily and readily available. They were not starving and it is not the custom.

I am a dog lover as well. So I would never even consider killing my own dog. But not everybody views it the same way we do. Killing is still technically killing. We just tend to be more offended if they when they are soft and cuddly.

Actually, I don't care if he killed it out of hunger or if he had a hankering for ground hound.

I know people who raise lamas as pets and love them. When they have too many babies they make a tough choice on which one to chop up. Eenie meenie minie mo with the older ones. They are not psychopaths.

This isn't dump crap *** fed up 3rd world abomination Haiti. Maybe this illegal forgot the part about differences in culture, laws, and attitudes? Our country's job isn't to assimilate this moron but it's his job to assimilate into our culture. And our culture DOES NOT permit this type of behavior. Call it what you want, hypocrisy double standard whatever. But eating a dog is looked at in a very bad way (illegal) and eating a cow isn't. Sorry. Submit your complaint to obama's mailbox. I'm sure he'll get back to ya in no time! Lol...

The truth is, if he wanted meat then why not go down and get a hamburger or something? Meat here is so cheap!
If he wanted to "discipline" his kids, killing he dog is a poor way to do it. And he should be punished accordingly.

For those wanting to compare this to sending a dog to an animal shelter... Ummmm... You folks have no idea what you're talking about. Many animal shelters give pets away for adoption NOT a guarantee to euthanize. Give the dog a chance to live.

Lastly, I think repubs are making this a political issue out of this. Which is unfortunate. Why attack PETA and others to promote your anti-government/pro anarchy agenda? Let it go guys.
 
Part of me wants to go all "nate" on this guy and be really offended. But I'd want a lot more details about why. I also think a felony is way to severe unless he tortured it 1st.
