Should we bring in Stockton to mentor Collier?

Should we bring in Stockton to mentor Collier?

  • Yes - it would help tremendously

  • Nah - it would be useless

  • DWill is a more similar PG - bring him instead

Not "all of the sudden"

You brought him up. People expressed their opinion about your idea (it was bad) and about Stockton (he is dumb).

There was a chain of events that you started... "all if the sudden"
Bro i’m typing on my iphone while driving cut me some slack witht he misspelling.

Stockton has been playing pickup with local former semi pro, college and top HS players for years. I know he has provided some help to Zag players, but they don't play in the Sunday games. I think maybe Mark Few does not want them getting hurt. A lot of them have talked about it publicly and mentioned how he helped them. He has an invite only weekly game and he still balls out. Not sure how much it would help Collier to get sime Stock time, but it would not hurt. Having Deron help him would be great too.

He will tell people what they are doing wrong and show you how he can exploit you. He is very generous with his time at these games.

In public, he really values privacy, and while it is disappointing as a fan, I sort of get it.

It is hard to teach what you do well. Hakeem has tried to teach many the dream shake. Does not seemed to have helped many.

I'd love to see Stock hired as an assistant/development coach. Particularly demanding more on defense from the backcourt.

His kids are all older so it may be a good time to strike.

Amazing how we think the “All time Assist leader” in the history of the NBA has nothing to offer little ol’ Isiah Collier…

I’m simply amazed.

His youngest son is on the Eastern Washington roster and he was in Ogden last week watching him play against Weber. His youngest son isn't a NBA prospect.

To be fair, you shouldn't be typing or chatting while driving ;)

As for your main point. Not always the greatest are the best at mentoring or teaching. I'm not sure about Stock skills in that regard, but he doesn't seem to be into it.

It seems Collier is in a good path right now

None of his boys should have been prospects, on physical talent, but they were, presumably because they had him around to tutor them. I'd be interested to see what a few weeks tutoring could do for Collier.

Key he would probably mentally wound permanently due to his attitude issues.

Two of his kids are still playing professionally. Stock looked more like a jockey than an NBA player.

Yep, both were marginal NBA players (kinda surprised Michael didn't get anything more than a summer league in the NBA,) but solid pros in lesser leagues.

They werent marginal in the slightest. Neither had a chance at the NBA.

And to reply a second time, it's funny watching videos of his peers as they recollect going against him, being surprised at how tall/strong/fast he was. He definitely gave off a jockey vibe while really being a stone cold assassin on the court with unmatched vision/proprioception and large hands to get the ball the do whatever he wanted.
