Should we go big? Adjustments for game 2

It would be a good idea if Favors was healthy, but he isn't. He actually hurt us playing last game. He probably should be rested for the next game. Maybe give some minutes to B-boy or Lyles and see what happens.

PLAY TO YOUR STRENGTHS. DOMINATE ON THE DEFENSIVE GLASS, STOP TRANSITION AT ALL COSTS, MAKE THEM DEFEND IN THE HALFCOURT FOR 24 SECONDS. MAKE IT ****ING UGLY, WEAR THEM OUT, HARD FOULS AT THE RIM, MOVE THE BIG UP ON A PICK BUT DONT SWITCH AND HAVE PLAYERS READY TO TAKE OR MAKE CONTACT IF THEY DRIVE AND JUST BE PERFECT ON ROTATIONS. MAKE THE GAME NOT FUN FOR THEM.

You hit the nail on the head. Anyone that has coached knows you give hard fouls on layups. I had to turn the game off watching them score layup after layup, while we just stood there and watched. Really pissed me off.

Generally speaking, yeah, probably not a good idea. And I guess the Jazz were grinding but it felt like they were putting up shots earlier in the clock.

My point, however, is that the Warriors just have to be made uncomfortable. I'm not sure they're used to it.

I also think Favors/Gobert should play together more in the hopes that Favors can maybe rotate to the rim and contest a shot. Also, whatever happened to taking charges? Trap and/or run them off the line and just go in on rotations and protecting the paint. Kind of like the Heat played D.

In the 2nd quarter, we have to give Lyles about 4 minutes with Rudy. If he can spread the floor, what a help it would be. Diaw, Ingles and even Joe looked so slow the other night. The only way to get out of the doghouse is to perform your way out.

It was late, but he played really well on Tuesday. The kid is talented. A good playoff showing might light the spark in a very promising talent.

The problem is it appears he still hasn't learned that he doesn't have shoot the ball every time he touches it.

Spot on. We need to win the boards and play with fire and physicality to have any chance.

Gotta play better. Shots have to fall. Offense and Defense has to be exceptional.

That's the grim reality. And it's not just the Jazz that face that reality.

But, slow the game to a crawl, make a bunch of 3s, and the Jazz can pull out a victory.

Saw Snyder getting interviewed on the news and he was asked if he was going to make any changes and he said no, that they would stay the course.

Though even if he were going to make changes he would probably keep it secret anyway.

This is SPOT on.. There's a major ****ing issue tho.. The didn't build the team to do this. clearly.... They built the team so Rudy could be a sort of one man army (surely they were counting on Favors too) they built the team so that Rudy could pick up a lot of the slack (from players like JJ and Diaw) by himself, not to amplify Rudy's effectiveness (thats done with the tactics/gameplan)..

FWIW - The bucks seem to be trying to build such a team.

Means Mack chasing Curry after the blow by and Livingston shooting over Mack. Staying the course......

I agree with all of this. The biggest problem I see is we rely on too much ISO and on ball screen and roll. The Warriors were built to defend this, and they largely have players that can switch everything without being disadvantaged. We need a lot more off the ball movement. We also need to exploit the mismatches that are available. Last game there were at least a couple times when Gobert had Curry guarding him in the paint, but he never got the ball. Rudy needs to be aggressive and pound the ball.

The other thing we need to do is drive when they guard us close, which is what they do. They defend the 3 really well, but that leaves them vulnerable to a drive or drive and kick. We had a good run with Hood doing this til the end of the third, then we reverted to taking contested jumpers.

We should go big, Favors + Gobert. Thats the only way we can dominate them. And Gobert must play 40+ mins efficiently for us to win.

That would be nice to play them together but that requires a healthy Favors. He is only playing a few minutes a game right now. A healthy Favors playing 30 minutes a game would make a huge difference for us.

I think our next game monday night? Thats 3.5 days off. Hopefully we will be pretty healed up as a team.
