HOU plays SAC at 8pm ET

Jazz plays LAL at 10.30pm ET

It should be clear by the start of the Jazz game whether or not we've been eliminated from the playoffs. SAC is reported to rest most of their players in the final game against HOU as they've been tanking hard the last week or so as well.

Currently Jazz sits at 41 losses, CHI at 40 losses and WAS at 41 losses. We could potentially finish tied for 12th and get a coin toss if we don't win that final game.

So if it's apparent we're out of the playoffs, should we 'tank' the final game?

Please vote in the poll.

Chicago hosts Philly who has nothing to play for.

Washington hosts Atlanta who has much to play for.

My guess is Chicago wins, Washington loses.

And the Jazz without Gobert, without Favors and Alec, Hood and Hayward played lightly lose a close game.

Yup, I have no problem resting Gobert (ankle), Favors (knee), Hood (rest or lingering injury) and Hayward (rest or lingering injury).

May be even bring back Pleiss and see what he can do. What have we got to lose? I wanna see if what he's been doing in the D-League will translate to the NBA.

of course. and let me explain exactly why.. The higher the pick is the easier it is to potentially trade up.

Obviously they sit Rudy, his twisted ankle makes this question even easier. I'd sit Favors, and Hayward too - due to arm fatigue from laying too many bricks from 3

Also I don't know how many of you were checking in on the potential tank rankings the last few weeks but If they pulled the plug weeks ago they still wouldn't really have been able to do much better than the 12th pick.. So basically they could make up a few weeks worth of tanking if this all the domino's fall perfectly today

Tank the Eff Out of this B!

No. Jazz are to late to tank now. They should have done so after straight losses after the all-star break. Just beat Kobe and end his career with a loss.

Absolutely. Bench everyone. Let them feel this loss and other recent choke jobs for the rest of spring, summer, and early fall. Could end up with the 12th pick if Washington wins.
Plus we know if Kobe is breathed on, or even looked at, during his swan song, a foul will be called.

Yep. Get as high as you can for trading up and give yourself as much chance as possible to make magic happen in the lottery. Top 3 pick in this draft would be really swell.

Absolutely. The real question is are the Lakers capable of winning even if we do tank? We might have to forfeit in order to lose that one.

I think they should try to pick up John Lucas the turd for this last game and give him 48 minutes

Slightly better draft pick is not worth sending Kobe off with a big middle finger from Utah.

Jazz need to beat the Lakers in this game. It makes me question peoples Jazz fandom if they want the Jazz to lose to the Lakers anytime especially in Kobes last game and with all the attention. Think of how many stupid Lakers fans are going to be at the game buying way over priced tickets and waaaaaayyyyyy overpriced Kobe gear just to watch him and the Lakers get embarrassed by the Jazz. It would almost make missing the playoffs worth it to me. It would also be good for the development of this team to have nothing to play for and show some heart and pride and come out swinging hard.

On a side note the Jazz were not set up to make the playoffs nor was that the goal this season. It would have been great and it would have shown that we have some real talent on this team. If we had a normal injury season we would have been a 5 seed and the optimism for this team would have been through the roof for next season. Yes we have issues to address in the off season. But this team was still in asset collection/tank mode with young players. The team was set up to put all the pressure on our young core players with no help from vets, the hope was to help the develop and still get a pick unless a star emerged. We didnt quite get a star but we know what a lot of our players are now and we can change our goal from asset collection to winning which is what next season will be about. Thats what the coaches, front office and players will be judged on next season but that was not what they were being judged on this season.
