What's new

Shout out to Mo Bamba

Nah, they aint keeping him

Maybe do a reroute if anyone needs a backup 5 on the minimum.

He must have really stunk in practices and intra squad scrimmages.
It’s not like they are tanking and some guys take longer to develop. Had the lakers drafted Collier he most likely wouldn’t have been given the time to develop as he’s been able to here. I’m sure there are plenty of dudes that never got the chance to develop because their team was in win mode. If the Jazz weren’t tanking I’m sure Collier and Filip would be in the GLeague now. As he’s only played two games this year I’m guessing he’s mostly been in the GLeague, you’re the expert of the GLeague what’s his stats look like?

22 ppg .437 from three .800 from the line. Decent. He was taken one pick after Key and a couple before Podz. He also had back surgery last season.

Here's where I don't understand Ainge's logic. Mo was a McDonald's All American and a lottery pick ahead of Sexton and Kevin Knox II. KKII and Mo hit the waiver wire right after we trade for them. Both are relatively young and appear to have potential and were highly thought of by some scouting staff. Are both cancers? I just don't understand the thinking.

I’ve watched some Clippers this year (so proud of Dunn whom they love) and seen some Mo Bamba action and always been favorably impressed. I just don’t get it, lottery pick, McDonalds All American, and he’s still relatively young. He’s got the stretch game, he’s got a fantastic wingspan and seems taller than listed. All in on Flip as the backup I guess.

Being a GM in the NBA is about guessing and predicting right, there are no sure things. On the other hand, being right is what GM's and the FO are paid for. I wonder when the accountability will come for Ainge. Ryan disliked DL so he has no leash. He loves Ainge so there is unlimited patience. The narrative around the prior two years is that we were keeping enough talent around so when we made a big splash trade that we were locked and ready with a supporting cast - it was why we didn't do a real tank job. It fits with Danny being a big game hunter. Now we have abandoned that idea and moved on to plan B where we are tanking. The prior two years turned out to be a complete waste but the fact that we couldn't use all of our amazing assets to land anyone, including Luka, should have ramifications. The national guys see it but most local media are still fawning over Ryan and Danny. People act like trading 3 first round picks for one 1st round is great work by a GM, even though we have no clue if the one we got will be any better than the 3 we gave up. Mind boggling. My guess is that if we dont get lucky in this years lottery that folks will finally start to push back. Danny got incredibly lucky in Boston and is using the same approach in SLC. I hope he gets lucky again.

There’s nothing linear about kids reaching their athletic potential. For an infinite amount of reasons.

Just because Bamba was legit in high school doesn’t mean he still is.
