What's new

So gay!!!

While I am not opposed to gay marrige, I'm pretty pissed that once again the federal government can simpy step in, wave it's magic wand, and completely un-do the work of the people.

The people of California spoke, and what they had to say was : No gay marrige. How can you convince somebody to get out there and vote on any subject when in reality their vote doesn't matter? If the people had voted gay marrige in, their voices should be respected and their choice upheld. The same principals should be in effect with the choice of banning gay marrige.

This country feels like less and less of a democracy with each passing day......

I'm not the brightest when it comes to politics, but I'm pretty sure American democracy isn't mob rule. We have the constitution to protect the rights of minorities. And Prop 8 was unconstitutional. The majority shouldn't be able to oppress the minority just because they have more people (just like racial segregation).

The people of Mississippi spoke, and what they had to say was : You have to pay a tax to vote in elections in Mississippi. How can you convince somebody to get out there and vote on any subject when in reality their vote doesn't matter? If the people had voted poll taxes out, their voices should be respected and their choice upheld. The same principals should be in effect with the choice of establishing poll taxes.

I am married and if I was married to one of my guy freinds instead of my wife then my life would be entirely different.

-I would not have my daughter nor would having offspring be an option. There's this thing called adoption.
-How I have sex would be totally opposite. So? You've never tried other entries? It feels pretty much the same.
-Living with a woman is complete opposite of living with a male roomate I think they're okay with having a same sex roommate since ya know, they want to marry the person and all. But thanks for your concern.
-I would not argue about me watching too much sports
-etc etc etc Sounds like your woman's lame and you should consider divorce.

Me being married to a man would litereally make my life do a full 180. I dont know how that is a shock or a surprise for people.
You sound like you could use a 180. Seriously. Once you go ***, you never go back. Okay, well that's not true. You're always going back really.

Didn't take long for this here thread to degenerate into homosexuals advocatin the "gay life" and lookin for converts, eh?

If this "brain biology" grows and turns everybody gay then we are literally talking about the end of the world. No matter how you dice it, homosexuality does not fit into evolution.

I say this out of love. Please have no more children. Seriously, hate breeds hate.

This evolutionary argument is hilarious.

Beantown says homosexuality is evolutionary inferior...

Why haven't homosexuals in humans (and many other animal species) died off millions of years ago, shouldn't they have been eradicated from the gene pool?

Beantown says that if only homosexuals were left, we would all die due to being unable to procreate.

Since when did homosexuals lack the ability to procreate? from what I've heard from my gay friends, surprisingly enough, they still can.

You're using a broad brush to try and make your point. I'm not for "mob rule" as you'd like to make it sound. I'm simply for the voice of the people being heard and upheld. I don't think that people who are pro-gay marrige in Cali are upset about "majority rules", they're upset because the majority didn't agree with them this time. If Prop 8 had failed, you'd hear ever supporter screaming from the rooftops about how the people had spoken. Funny how that works.

Under your line of thinking, why put anything to a vote of the people? Do you honestly believe that the old men in suits and the judges in Washington D.C. are the right people to make these type of decisions day in and day out? I'm sorry, but I do not. I feel that the American people would do a wonderful job of governing themselves if big government would get out of our way and let us do just that.

I dunno. When something like this interferes with the rights of minorities, I think people should absolutely be ignored and the constitution needs to take over. It is the role of the judiciary to deem whether laws are constitutional or not. In this case, Prop 8 wasn't, and it was struck down. If the rights of minorities were up for debate, chaos would ensue, and discrimination against women and blacks would be legal.

Did you stop reading after 'mob rule?' Read the part after that. He answered your question.

Anybuddy else gittin ads on they page with a picture of two guys standin nose-to-nose with crap-eatin grins on their faces and looks of lust in their eyes askin: "Is gay marriage wrong?"

OMG I scrolled up and what do you know.

This ruling is terrible. Homosexuality undermines procreation. Then they will want to have their own families with adopted children. Can you imagine being raised by two mothers or two fathers? That must suck ***. Thankfully I was raised by a married mother and father and not brought into some screwed up situation whether it be this or some messed up divorced parents. Children are meant to be raised by their biological mother and father. Sucks for those of you who don't come from perfect families like I do.

I will say this is the rare instance where I have no idea if this is satire or not.

We have the constitution to protect the rights of minorities. And Prop 8 was unconstitutional.

Unconstitutional according to? One homosexual judge in San Francisco, eh? Like, whooda thunk, I ax ya?

"It was likely that a homosexual judge would rule in his own interest so this was no big surprise to me," Nelson said minutes after Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker, who is gay, made his verdict public."

As I understand it, as of now, at least, federal benefits are not available to same-sex marriage partners. God only knows how many billions this judge thinks he is telling the country it must spend on homosexual marriages because anything else would violate the U.S Constitution, eh? I gotta feelin this here ballgame aint zakly over yet, know what I'm sayin?
