So we need another 3/4 defender

Hey guys, those who doubt Exum’s ability to shut down Kawhi and Playoff P at the same time are being haters. Don’t let me ask Lopo to start another thread bashing you haters. Be nice

Btw, kawhi’s lingering injuries? Huh? I get he had that one season with San Antonio. But he looked pretty damn healthy last year leading his team to one of the top seeds in the east and then to the NBA Finals. Oh and who won Finals MVP again?

Lingering injuries? Ha!

He has a degenerative quad condition... it’s why he likes to manage it with rest... he may be able to power through or maybe it’s not an issue long term... but it’s part of the reason he signed a long term deal and not a 1+1... he could have made a whole hell of a lot more money doing a 1+1 and opting out to sign a 5 year deal next summer.

Yep. That is why I firmly believe that OKC would end up victorious in the PG trade. Clips can only win if they win championships the next two years.

The gigantic hole we have at the 4 is going to be our downfall in a long playoff run. Playoff basketball exploits your weaknesses. Look how Houston completely took Ingles out of the series and forced Rubio to beat them. With really only 3rd string players to man the 4 for us we are not going to go very far. We need at least a borderline starter level 4 to round out the team to make a truly deep playoff run.

Bojan can score and will probably play the 4 a lot. If we're healthy, they'll need to let Joe or Bojan beat them, which is a lot better (for us) than Joe or Ricky.

We are good for now and could add something during the season. Green, Royce, Niang, and Bojan can play there and I’m intrigued by Brantley... he likely isn’t ready but could play some minutes there during regular season.

I don’t see it as a gigantic hole and it’s a position you can patch together by committee.

My dream at this point is avery Bradley, jamychal green, Vince Carter
I'm not sure about Bradley, he's been falling off hard the past years, but he was solid a few years back. Carter would be cool, Green is probably not going to happen. LAC will match anything we can offer, and he's RFA.

We have legit all-star candidates at every other position. Which 4 in the west is going to destroy us offensively or defensively? Breathe. . . .

Marcus Morris says hi.

But Exum played good defense on Harden that one time so we must keep him. And we drafted Bradley.

Lol. I breathed. Then realized you are delusional so it's all good. It's not about a single player at a single position taking out your single player at his single position. Have you watched basketball? You obviously never played.

I don't worry about our ability to guard PG/Kawhi. Look they are great players. They are going to get their points most of the time. But we have plenty of different bodies to throw at them. Ingles is a great defender. We've already seen what he can do against Paul George. Bojan is an okay defender. Royce is a good defender. Green is an athletic body. Donovan is a very capable defender. Emmanuel is a big athletic body. Dante is a very good perimeter defender. We got bodies to give them different looks and make it hard. The other thing is that in a series I think that our defensive scheme of funneling them to Rudy would work quite well. Pat Bev isn't a scary offensive player. They don't have a center who can stretch the floor and pull Rudy away from the hoop. Only other player we have to worry about offensively is Shamet/Lou Will. Whichever one is on the floor. On the other side PG/Kawhi/Pat Bev are all great perimeter defenders. But they can't guard everything. We finally have a team with offensive balance and multiple guys who can go off on a given night. And we have a system that is known to generate open looks. We'd be alright in that matchup. We'd have just as much of a chance to win as they would.
